HopBackDoc (474) - Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2010
On draft at Hotel Bethlehem. Deep mahogany pour with firm white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, toasted grains. Flavor was rich and complex with caramel malt, vanilla, toffee, spices, and a nice hop finish. Good looking and good tasting beer that is great for the winter season.

Color is pretty amber, minimal lacing. Aroma is floral, like potpourri. Taste is like a hoppy blast in your mouth, and it is not the pleasant kind. It is like potpourri drenched in rubbing alcohol. Good thing I did not have an entire glass of this, but merely stole a few sips from Rustyham.

I don’t see what’s wintery about this. It tastes and looks like and smells like an American pale ale, like a heavily dry hop Yuengling. Problem is seems like the brewer dropped his clove cigarette in the mash. Not very pleasant, but drinkable. Bottle from J. Barleycorn, Nashville, TN.

Suttree (6466) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 29, 2010
Red, verging on orange. Large but fragile beige head. Nicely hoppy aroma - floral and piney, with some caramel in the finish. Flavor is also pretty hop forward, with a little bit of caramel in the finish. Nice resiney hoppy finish.

3.6
TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - NOV 27, 2010
2010 draught pour at Stoudts. Pours a lightly hazy orange amber with a medium creamy bubbly off white head that laced. Aroma of caramel, nuts, toffee and pine. Flavor of caramel, orange, nuts and toffee.

2.6
Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - NOV 24, 2010
Clear amber orange, thick foamy beige head. Aroma of grass and caramel. Taste is more bitter but also has a lot of toffee sweetness to balance. The bitterness is grassy and herbal. Light body, lively carbonation. Very mild overall and some funky metallic feeling on the finish.

bleeng (1682) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - NOV 21, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours bright copper with a nice fluffy white head. Nose is metallic, slightly malty. Taste is very sharp, some maltiness, metallic. hops??? Body is fluffy. Something doesn’t quite fit here-this has the makings of a decent beer but it doesn’t all fit together.

fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 6, 2010
bottle pours amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is grapefruit and toasted malts. Flavor is very malt forward, toasted, grass, nuts. Ends dry with mild citrus hop bitterness and a metallic note.

3.3
BelgianBeerGal (4121) - Panama City, Florida, USA - JUN 13, 2010
12oz traded bottle. Sketchy notes... Pretty nice amber with some winter warmer qualities. A little spice and some decent hoppiness. Fuller mouthfeel than expected.

3.3
vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUN 3, 2010
Draft. Brown pour with tan head. Sweet malt aroma and flavor with some spices and fruit notes. Kind of light on the spice, What hops?
