Draft at the brewery with Erica on 09.26.2017 (backlog). Somewhat underwhelming but actually not bad for a style that rarely does much of anything for me. Not offensively harsh/grainy; earthy malt character and subtle sweet aftertaste. djd07 (16533) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 25, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is toasted malt, roast, pine, rye. Medium body, caramel, pine, rye, nuts, light resin finish, very good. JorgeLee (2327) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2016
On tap, Palace Kitchen. Deep reddish brown, off white foam. Quite a heavy burnt crystal sugar character and an earthy rather than piney or citrusy hop. Ok but a bit lacking flavour definition and a little hard work to drink. bulldogops (2885) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 5, 2016
Rating #2057- 2015.09.27 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 4, Beer 159 - Draught at Taproom Pours a ruby amber. Aroma is caramel, toffee, lemon rind. Nice toffee sweetness, mild grassy, spicy, citrusy hop bitterness that is barely there. Roasty malt forward amber with a cocoa finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear ruby tinged amber with a thin white head. Toasty, malt, a hint of cocoa and vague coffee on the nose. Medium bodied, toast, cocoa, a bit of sweetness. Light chocolate notes, tending more toward the vanilla side of it, sweet malt, a hint of fruit. Light bitterness. Tasty.

Sampled from the tap at Chuck’s Hop Shop. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of straw and earthy grains with light grass underlying. Flavor is full of earthy grains and musty straw with a touch of grass backing. ClarkVV (7120) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 18, 2015

Indeed a violet-tinged red with good clarity and a beige colored head atop that shows moderate retention.
Very hop forward nose allows some more lighthearted cherry and candied orange-like notes, but certainly delivers a stiff amount of pine and red grapefruit. No alcohol or flaws.
Dextrinous body with well-attenuated sugars, a light saltiness almost, a hint of roast and tons of hops. Red grapefruit, orange rind, lemon and moderate pine, definitely not for the faint of heart. Not my jam, but that’s ok.
Draft. Crystal clear copper body topped by small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, orange light bread. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some orange, light bread. Medium body, light resin. furthur (1264) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - AUG 12, 2015
Draft at BnB, deep amber, creamy head, decent lace for all the mason jar adds. Aroma is malt, toasted barley, spruce. Taste is malt, toasted barley, a little stone fruit, and some spruce hops bitter at the finish. Palate is smooth, but not heavy or watery, carbonation moderate.
