Pinball (12034) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2011
bottle from beerplanet.eu pours a pitch black pour, head is smooth, plentifull and dark brown. Looks really really good, actually. this one served cold. Aroma is near nonexistant, faint roasted notes, and faint sweet maltish notes, slightly grassy. flavor is sweet malty, metallic, in fact quite metallic, honey, caramel. disturbingly sweet flavor that is more like malts and caramel than roasted malts.

330ml bottle, take away service at De Bierkamer. Lots of dimples atop of an opaque, coal black body. Chocolate malts to the nose. Flavour of chocolate and honey. Way too sweet (shared with Finn at our hotel room in Aalst, 30.04.2011).

330ml bottle (Beer Palais?, Bruges) Bottled 2007-12, BBE 2009-12, drunk 2011-04
5 Clearly acidic sour aroma. Offputting in a stout.
4 Black, large frothy head.
4 Very winey grape and apple retronasals. Thin and sugary after that. Amazed this didnt become a gusher after all these years.
2- Slightly watery and sugary, not a good combo. Crisp carbonation doesnt save it. Finish is just like about half a dozen of my worst home-brews.
7 Surprisingly drinkable at this age. Not really fair to the brewer as it was 16 months past its BB. However, I only bought it recently and this is the only chance Ive had. Should rerate, but after reading other reviews I dont think that it would get much higher scores.

Bottle. [thanks Sren & Feldthaus]
Pours almost black with a big, staying, creamy, dark-beige head. Aroma has sweetness, some malts, lightly roasted and milky chocolate. Highish carbonation, fairly thin mouthfeel. Flavour is marred by a heavy metallic edge. There is a fair sweetness, but not much maltiness. Lightly roasted and dry in the finish. Just not a good stout.

Travlr (24012) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 7, 2010
On first pouring this beer, it looked like it had potential - deep, dark ruby-black color with a maroon-colored head, lively but settled quickly. The aroma was pure caramel, not much else - first sign of trouble. The taste was so incredibly sweet that none of the reviewers could finish it. Nothing to balance the sweetness. Best skipped.

Very sweet, cidery, wine, sultanine and above all honey (may be acacia) taste. Light brown foam, dark opaque color, cherries, sultanine, some note of vinegar in the nose. A very nice disovery for a stout!

TBone (17316) - Pori, FINLAND - AUG 1, 2009
Bottled (Bs, bottled 10/2007). Almost opaque brown color, huge cloudy tan head. Sour vinegar, saccarine and earth in the nose, some berries too. Very very sweet. Flavor is musty and it has saccarine, milk chocolate, mould, iron, plum. Foamy mouthfeel. Way too sweet to be enjoyable and also bottle was not in top condition.
