Bottle from Carrefour City Supermarket, Brussels, Belgium. Inky black with a massive foamy tan head. It has a chocolate and spicy flavour with chocolate and dried fruit on the warming, smooth finish. Very much like a Session Belgian Dubbel (if there is such a thing) rather than a stout. Very good. Jerre (3857) - Waregem, BELGIUM - OCT 20, 2007
On tap @ Bietje Ter Doest.

Very sweet, cidery, wine, sultanine and above all honey (may be acacia) taste.
Light brown foam, dark opaque color, cherries, sultanine, some note of vinegar in the nose.
A very nice disovery for a stout! Icedwarf (1886) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - FEB 27, 2016
Zwart bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is zoet met iets van anijs, drop en vanille. Erg goed.

So dark, deep black it doesn’t let any light pass through; a dark brown/red head.
Roasted scent with a touch of sour and definitely sweetness as well, really a smell of its own with plenty of character.
The taste is a bit roasted, iron-like with again a bit of sourness. There’s sugars in there as well, adding to the complex taste. It’s a little weird; not really heavy though a full taste. It’s often labeled as a sweet stout which is probably the most accurate way to describe it. Interesting taste though not for everyone and not something to drink too often either.
The aftertaste is quite smooth but long lasting, could have been a bit stronger, though perhaps that’s too much to ask for seeing that it’s only a 5.5% beer.
All in all it’s rather sweet, good and really original. Countbeer (6589) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 8, 2013
Woohoo, just in time. After the cap is removed I was ready for the upcoming gusher, it poured black and brown an created a black beer with a big brown head that changes slowly into a fluffy big foamy island.
Aromas of metallic, some coffee with milk, (roasted) malts, french fries, grains and some floral tones.
Flavours of sweets like honey and brown sugars, some hints spices like bay leaf and a sprinkle of something clove/cinnamon a like, caramel, some bark, ligt roast, grass, light bitter, some cream and a sweet liquorice tone.
Aftertaste is a mix of sweet liquorice, brown sugars, some sweet roast and grassy grains.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.
Bit sweet, bit roast, bit stout, decent a would say, fits the style. kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - JUL 8, 2005
Draught: Black with a short tan head. Medium berry aroma, with some caramel and plums there too. Berries, liquorice, caramalts and choc in the flavour. Medium-full bodied. Very nice belgian styled stout. Bart (2936) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 7, 2009
Black coloured beer with a huge brown head. Light sour herby and special fruity aroma. Medium to full very sprankling palate. Finish is fruity, refreshing with a heryb sweet light sticky sugar malty touch. Very nice.
