Ruby tinged brown beer, tan head. Nose is dried fruit, plums, sugar, yeast, malt. Flavor is dried fruit, alcohol, dark sugar, chocolate, plums, spice, caramel. Alcohol in the finish. Oily mouthfeel. Rich, but very drinkable. Nice. tomer (3751) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - JAN 29, 2014
At a tasting, many thanks MrHangover, almost no head, quite clear dark brown colour, aroma of dried cherries and apricots, caramel and light oxidised notes, fruity sour flavour with woody and sherry notes, a bit too light bodied. Quite old but still interesting. Huhzubendah (3742) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Bottle shared by jayhawk73. Thanks Jeff!
The beer appears a dark maple brown color with a thick, dense, light beige head. Excellent retention and ample lacing. Quads are just great looking beers.
The aroma brings dark fruits, particularly plums, figs, raisins. Yeast presence is there as well. The aroma is a bit weak for the style.
Sweet raisins with a hint of yeast. Lingering bitterness in the finish. Caramel malt and toffee.
Alcohol presence is very well disguised. A bit of warmth going down. Nice feel.
A good sipper. Not as complex as the Trappist examples of the style. Still, an enjoyable beer and worth a try.

25.4 oz bottle. Deep chocolate brown, clear at the edges with a lacy topping. Nose is brown sugar, cola, raisin and cinnamon stick. Medium light with scratchy, slightly foamy carb; getting sticky. Taste is raisin, burnt sugar, carrot juice and nutmeg. Banana as it warms. Decent rendition of a tough style. DYCSoccer17 (3708) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 12, 2011
8 ounce sample on tap at Perfecto Lounge. The aroma on this is a little weird. Lightly tart and sour with some caramelly hints. I also detect some anise, and not much else. Not really what I’d expect from a quad. Transparent ruddy mahogany body with a small, off-white head and decent lacing. Starts tart and lightly astringent. Becomes a little sweet towards the middle. Some molasses character is in there. Finishes a bit boozy with some more astringency. Not a big fan of this beer at all.

Deep clear mahogany orange body with a large tan colored head. Pungent sweet vanilla, dried light fruits and christmas spices on the nose. Smooth, full bodied and alcoholic. Pungent sweet and bitter with toasted notes and spicy roasted hints. Dry tongue. Even warms the throat. smith4498 (3674) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 6, 2011
Pours cola brown with big light tan head. Aromas of dark fruits and bread dough. Sweet caramel malt flavor with some raisins, dough and candy sugar. Taste is good initially but ends with a weird aftertaste, kind of medicinal. Medium body with lively carbonation. andrepintado (3668) - Porto, PORTUGAL - JUN 21, 2013
