Bottle. Poured a clear reddish brown color with an average to large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy dark fruit, Belgian yeast and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex brew.

Bottled sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a slightly hazy copper-brown color with a medium sized brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of berries, cherries and brown sugar. The taste is big brown sugar notes, toffee, berries, bready notes and a spicy finish. Medium bodied. Nice. Bottle at Christian Firtal. Deep ruby with a lasting off-white head. Inviting fruity aroma with plums, dates, raisins and port wine, with an underlying spicy note. Sweetish flavour with equal parts dried fruit, caramel, alcohol heat and spice (anise, licorice, coriander notes). The alcohol is notable and rather hot, but reasonably well integrated
