shared 22oz bottle poured with a clear brown body and a decent head. A good bit of medium roasted malt flavor but the moderately smokey nose is followed by an overly smokey flavor.

Flat dark brown pour. Not much of a head. I even forced it. Little bit of lacing. Smells like a malty doppelbock with a bit of smoke in the background. Tastes malty, with some raisin notes and a bit of smoke in the background. Sweet finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours clear tawny with a small, frothy light tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is smoked malt and meat, dates, figs, and plums, earthy hops, caramel and cookie malt. Flavor is malt forward with substantial smoke, dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium-light carbonation.

Bottle shared by brew3crew. Pours a clear deep caramel brown color with a small and rapidly diminishing off white head. The aroma was meaty smoked malts, moderately sweet malt, hint of earth. The flavor was more meaty smoke, dark caramel and some woody notes. Fairly smooth.

Tasted on 4/25/13 from a capped 22oz bomber bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal. Pours cola brown with a thin off-white head that quickly disappears. The nose is full of smoke with a nice amount of dark caramel malt. The flavor is a bit sweeter than I generally like this style, with tons of smoked malt and a touch of roast. The body is full with an almost syrupy texture, light carbonation, and a long smoked finish with a very interesting touch of black peppercorn.

This is by far one of the worst brews Ive had out of all the Huntsville Guys. They went out with a thud on the liberation series. Starters aroma very very mild smokey aroma otherwise sweetness faint mainly nothing. There was no head at all even during the pour. Taste is way to sweet, with a light flavor of liquid smoke. To thick on mouth feel as if this did not ferment the whole way. Ive made brews like this... they got poured out.
