On tap at STA. I enjoyed this quite a bit. It was very carbonated for the style (in my opinion) and was got better as it warmed up a bit (served pretty cold). There was not much of a head despite the carbonation, and it didn’t have the creamy texture I was hoping for. That said, flavor-wise it was very good and the alcohol added warmth without tasting like liquor. Bitterness was mild but offset the sweetness. Good stuff.

Bubbly, very dark brown with a small, creamy tan head.
Sweet....chocolate/dark fruit/cherry scent.
Taste is slightly tangy caramel malt, slightly vinous chocolate/cherry malt.

22 oz bottle. Pours amber brown. Not much head or lacing. Taste is dark cherry, woodsy, with a bit of sourness. Sweet finish. Pleasant surprise - ratings seem low on this one.

650 ml. Clear, deep copper-mahogany with a lasting spit of foam. Nose is toffee, sour cherry and booze. Taste is lager yeast, dark bread, toffee, toasted walnut, dark cherries and (surprisingly) only a nice touch of booze. Medium-heavy body is sweet, but not quite cloying. Almost slick mouthfeel has a smooth fine carbonation and a slight astringency on the wooden-yeasty finish which help keep the sweetness in check. Deep mahogany with a long lasting tan head.
Nutty malt aroma, some alcohol.
The flavor is lightly malty with a light sourness in the finish.

Bomber. Poured clear, reddish-amber with a short beige head. The aroma picked up odd sour-ish fruit skins and leathery funk with some fruit and sweet caramel beneath.. weird. The flavor found vinegary-metallic sourness on the tip of the tongue with toasty caramel and molasses beneath.. tangy, peppery warm finish. Medium-bodied and more sour than it should’ve been on the palate.. this didn’t work so well.
