COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lily Flagg Milk Stout is named for Huntsville’s most famous quadruped. A prize cow owned by local plantation owner Samuel B. Moore, Lily Flagg was honored as one of the world’s best butterfat producers in 1892 at an exposition in Chicago. This dark, rich beer contains tons of roasted malt goodness, hints of chocolate and coffee and a creamy mouth feel from the addition of milk sugars during the brewing process.

Can from Birmingham Trader Joe’s. Pours a very dark brown with a nice brown head. The aroma is freshly baked bread and milk chocolate. The flavor definitely has some lactose plus coffee and datk malt. Nice enough.

Not my style. I love sweet stouts of the sam smith oatmeal variety but this one was a bit sweet. Nice roast notes in the nose and taste, along with coffee, and a dry wood finish.

Deep dark brown body. Aromas of malt, coffee and chocolate. Nice flavor of malt, coffee and chocolate as well. The finish was a little lighter than most, but still had a decent creaminess.

12oz can from GT Package in Grovetown. Chocolate milk pour with a tan head leaving some lacing. Caramel, molasses, lactose and brown sugar. Tasty, although sweet, and with some of an off taste in the end. More sweet than bitter in the finish. 13.6

Pours a dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, lactose and roast. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, lactose, and an oddly sour finish that sets this beer off track. I’m surprised this is not a sweet stout since it has lactose, but after tasting it it makes since, as the beer is not sweet. Has lots of good qualities, but overall something is just off.
