Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body and a crisp finish.

Pint on tap. Clear copper with a film of lasting bubbles. Pleasant but slightly subdued nose of orange toffee, grapefruit and resin. Taste has grapefruit, earthy orange, toasted grain and nut, toffee and a nice drying finish of resin. Light-medium body finishes well to the dry side, has medium carbonation and is one of the few well-balanced American IPAs.

Can. Pours a clear copper body with a small wispy off-white head. The nose is on the sweeter side, with caramel and slightly husky malt with just a little citrusy hoppiness. The flavor isnt all that great, too sweet, with not enough hops, especially for an IPA. Pretty well the opposite of what I look for in an IPA. Medium bodied and a little sticky with soft fizzy carbonation. Pass.

Can. Amber with minimal head. Dank, grassy, grapefruit hop aroma with a light floral honey note. Tastes like it smells with a mild sweetness but mostly bitter. Medium body with an oily feel.

Draft at the source. Copper color with a white head. Fine-grained lacing. Aroma is citrus and malt with faint pine and floral elements. Taste has a little more pine and bitterness than the aroma indicates, but it also has a nice malty base. Good.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2016 Draught > Proud Larrys. Wow, what a surprise this is. I ordered it taking a flyer and was hooked from the first sip. Super flowery and hoppy crisp w/ a decent malty backbone. Im guessing Centennial hops?? This is a great IPA! Nice job straight to ale.

On tap at Edleys poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, pine and citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, pine and light citrus with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the brewery. The appearance is a cloudy orange amber with a large white head. The aroma is hops and citrus. The taste matches the aroma. An excellent beer.
