COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is what we had intended to brew when we made Genesis. Serving as our flagship ale, 24th Street Pale contains exactly the same hops but is less malty than Genesis which leads to less masking of the hop profile. Its a smooth little Pale with a bitter finish. Slightly floral, slightly fruity. It is dry and drinks quickly.

Bottle. Nose is light caramel with a little grassy hop. Taste is super sweet with just bittering hops. Reddish pour. Just messy and sweet and not enough hops.

One pint, nine oz bottle into a UK pint sleeve on 26th April 2016 in Laguna Niguel, cheers daughter for treating me to this. Orange hue to the clear amber body, beige head that tried to hang around. Hops all the way here with a semi-floral nose and a fairly bitter hop flavour. The malts do blend in nicely to balance the bitterness a little and the alcohol is just about noticeable within the brew. Liked it, pity about the hogwash on the label highlighting the breweries location and how lovely it is.

500 ml bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours a semi-opaque dark amber, with a tall, fine beige head with good retention. Smells like caramel, pine and citrus hops. The taste is bitter and refreshing, very soft mouthfeel and medium carbonation, with taste nots of caramel, pine, pineapple, sweet citrus and papaya. An excellent pale ale.

Draft at Barneys Beanery, LAX terminal 2. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot, resin), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Given how mild flavored the Beach House was, I am surprised by the striking bitterness in this one...in fact its too bitter for what little sweetness is left. More residual sugar would help make this balanced and lip-smacking, and less harsh. Rather plain aroma, ordinary west coast hop bouquet of grapefruit pith and a little resin.

6.1%ABV. Pale Ale. Tapped out a deep mahogany. 18SRM. Nose has nutty, toasty, beery aromas. Mouthfeel is soapy. The carbonation is a little flat for me. The palate has some rich flavors, caramel, deeply browned wheat toast, roasted barley, nuts, especially pecans, Brazils, and acorns. There is subtle malt sweetness. Some cream corn richness. Finish is attenuated, hop clean and then kinda sneaks up on you again with another hit of bitter then nothing. A pretty average ride for me.

The beer pours a honey amber color with an off white head. Aroma has lemon zest and citrus fruits. Taste has more citrus balanced out with some malts. Good easy drinking beer.
