On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, oak, cherry skin. Medium body, caramel, cherry, spice, nice sweetness, very good. DrunkSanta410 (940) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - AUG 24, 2014
Tap at brewery. Pours a dark brown with tan head. A bit lacy. Aroma is chocolate, sweet and tart cherry notes and hints of bitter chocolate. Faint yeast. Taste is chocolate cherry up front, with hints of burnt toast, a yeasty funk and faint coffee. A bit rough, nice flavors, but not really smooth. Palate is medium body, medium carb. It’s OK. ajnepple (6625) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 5, 2014

Draft. Pours dark brown with white head. Nose and taste of cherry, roast chocolate and toast. Medium body. theisti (4126) - Kansas, USA - APR 25, 2013
Shaker pint draft at the brewery in Denver, Colorado. The pour is opaque black, with a 1.2 inch tan head. Nice lacing left behind int he glass. The aroma is cherry fruit, general vanilla sweetness, than a nice roast character. The taste is the nose, decent balance between the cherry sweetness (with a mild tartness) and the roast malt. The sweetness gets pretty close to cloying as the beer warms. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and the sweet cherry finish. The tartness is a bit more evident in the aftertaste. Decent. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - OCT 18, 2012
I enjoyed this a bit more than the Kriek. The roast notes add a dimension that cuts some of the sweetness without losing the big pie aroma and spicing. Like having pie and a coffee. gnoff (10393) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - OCT 7, 2012

Very dark brown to black color, light brown head. Sweet, roasted taste. Light sour aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Some roasted aftertaste too. Sweet and light roasted scent. Not really for me this one.
Tap at United Tastes of Belgium 2012. Poured a deep brown with a khaki head. Somewhat muted aroma with smells of light roast, biscuit, coffee, and expresso. Taste is sour cherry, dark fruits, roast and coffee. Light body with soft carbonation. Pretty boring stout.
