Very dark brown to black color, light brown head. Sweet, roasted taste. Light sour aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Some roasted aftertaste too. Sweet and light roasted scent. Not really for me this one.
Tap @ brewery. Dark brown appearance with a tan colored head. Mild sour cherry, dark malty nose. Sweet and sour, dark chocolate malty flavor. Sour cherry and chocolate finish. Pretty good. onceblind (10590) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 31, 2011
Sampled at Denver Winter Brewfest 2011. Appearance was odd. Dark brown, very hazy, with clowdy opaque edges, and no head. Not appetizing. Gracefully, it smells better than it looks. Chocolate stoutiness mixed with Belgian fruity yeastiness and a whiff of cherry pie. Slightly sour aroma at the end. Flavor is right-freaking-on! Cherries hit first with some cocoa and mild hop bitterness bringing up the rear. Slightly sour, but in a good, sweet cherry-like way. The sooner this company starts bottling this stuff, the better. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 3, 2011
On tap at strange brewing, poured dark black with off white almost has a hint of pink in there, mostly tan head. Aroma has notes of slight sour cherry, toffee, chocolate, some other slightly odd fruity notes from the wheat with some roast as well. Taste is some sour cherry and slight pear notes, going into toffee, chocolate and coffee, finishing slightly sweet and also a bit bitter.
