Thanks Ratman. Poured dark brown, roasted malts, roasted green chilli pepper, coffee, little chocolate, little vanilla.
Black pour with a fast-dissipating off-khaki head. Very strong aroma of fire roasted poblano peppers, with a roasty dark black malt backbone. The taste had a start of peppery chilis but quickly turns to a big chipotle peppery heat...lasts quite a while. The finish under the pepper heat is kinda dark and roasty, but I can’t pin it down because of the insane lingering chipotle heat.

(Draught) Pours an opaque dark brown (near black) body with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, honey, chocolate, and smoked peppers. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, earth, and light chipotle. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Sampled on 1/21/2012. This spiced/herb beer pours a very dark brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium to small sized off white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, and caramel, with perhaps a touch of chipotle as well. A medium bodied porter/spiced ale. The malts are chocolate, coffee, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. The chipotle flavors are mostly at the finish, not all that hot, but definitely present. The hotness tends to linger and intensifies as the beer warms. Or the chipotle tends to build. Nice flavors. The chocolate and chipotle flavors mix and match well together. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and spicy.

Bottle. Dark mahogony beer with a tan head. Malt and caramel aroma with light chocolate and chili. Chili and malt flavor with light chocolate. Medium bodied. Chili and malt lingers with light toffee and light chocolate. Thanks Ratman! Thinnish dark gray down pour with no head. Decent nose of chocolate and coffee. More complexity in the flavor with smoked peppers standing out and vanilla in the finish. Decent heat and nice body. MatSciGuy (907) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 18, 2011
[Bottle] gifted to me by Ratman. Thanks so much! Pours clear deep brown with a small, soapy eggshell head. Aroma is light coffee, cocoa powder, a little ashy, bordering on lightly vegetal. Flavor is much more spicy than I was expecting based on the nose, but still mellow. Light smoked pepper, dry, thinnish, and a little chalky. Nice stuff. Thanks again, Ratman, and congrats on the 5k! Bottle thanks to MatSciGuy. Clear dark brown pour, almost no carbonation and an aroma of slightly spicy pepper. Body is light, flavor is earthy mild jalapenos and finishes with a dirty aftertaste. Interesting beer, glad I got to try it. LamarBurton (376) - California, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Bottle from Levi, passed on from Ratman himself! Thanks! Dark brown clear pour, with a sparse head. Quite vegetal on the aroma, light smoke, light chocolate. Light tobacco, light leather. Taste starts with dark roasted and toasted malt, moving to light hot peppers, lasting but not overpowering. Thin. Could really use a bit more sweet malt background. Just OK. Fun to try though!
