Cask; Regular. Sold as Toby’s IPA at the Toby Jug in Glasgow.
A refreshing drink made with Maris Otter malted barley and Clyde Valley hops.
It is a light coloured IPA making it an especially pleasant session ale which captures the pedigree of the famous draught horses still to be seen around the Strathaven area.

This is an excellent beer and im glad i found it in my wee tasting session in the bon accord. Aroma is grapefruit and grassy hops, very nice. Taste has the same flavours however theres a creamy texture that adds some depth to it but makes it soo drinkable. A wonderful beer, and i can assure you it is not retired.

[email protected] Abbotsford, Edinburgh. Copper brown, small creamy head. Mild soft hoppy aroma with vanilla notes. Starts very fruity then strong hoppy aftertaste. Very smooth mouthfeel. Good one.

A very nice example of a British IPA, floral hoppiness and a light maltiness make this a very drinkable blonde. Bought at Britische Biere am Volksgarten, Emmastrasse 25 in Düsseldorf Germany. The only place in germany to buy Strathaven beers.

mountainforest (131) - Mississippi, USA - DEC 15, 2007
On tap at Wetherspoon in New Town Edinburgh (under 2 pounds stirling). This beverage isn;t bad, nor great but better than average. Having been brewed in a 17th century building on the banks of the river Avon does not hurt this ale one bit. Rather a light (in the Scottish sense) summer beer.

cask blackfriars new years eve- cheers tom for this one!! ! extremely drinkable ipa, very sweet though, hops played second fiddle to the sweet and somewhat extreme malty character of this ale. still, quite good. cider accents in finish.

Cask, gravity, at Bedford Beer Festival ’10. Copper amber. Malty aroma with hints of brown wrapping paper. . Leafy malt taste, quite simple and enjoyable. Some bitterness. Middle of the road. Decent ale.
