Pours a nice copper color, tons of carbonation, very little head retention. Really smells of corn. Sweet, not unpleasent taste and zero hop bitterness/aroma. An alright beer for the price, more flavorful then the regular straub. Nejhleader (1550) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 5, 2008
has a nice little roast caramel malt aroma to it, body is a little thin, but a pleasent roast malt flavor to it. brewhoo (5) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 29, 2008 does not count
Nice light malt taste and amber color...mimimal aftertaste..very nice for a local brew. dp (608) - uniontown, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2008
some malts in the aroma, not a heavy beer at all, almost light in the texture, coffee after-taste, some roast, not bad lightning9191 (82) - Christiansburg, Virginia, USA - JUN 21, 2008
This one pours with about a finger of foam and is a clear, coppery color. The head does not stick around for long though. The aroma is somewhat malty. In the taste, I am getting some corn and then some butterscotch tones. I’m not sure what I think of this one. It is okay. Nothing to write home about. The body is pretty light and the carbonation is leaning towards high.

Um... I tried it at pints for pets. To be honest, the Straub guys looked kind of lonely. I appreciate it for what it is, but very ok at best. Aroma of corn and toffee. Pours an amber color. Pretty well carbonated, but very, VERY sweet. Not great, but better than a lot of other American light and dark lagers. DocLock (10659) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 28, 2008
Pours deep coppery brown with off-white head. Nose has some caramel malt, earthy peaty notes, mild hops. Tastes malty, with a mild dark fruity and hop combination. I’d call this a good dark lager, but not a great one. ndfreak77 (126) - USA - MAY 21, 2008
Pours a dark amber color with a white head. Mild taste with a smooth after taste. This lagers flavor is about as pleasant as they come. Very good. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Sampled on draught at Pints for Pets. Mild lager aroma. Bit of sweetness beyond the regular Straub. Light hops with beany character. Dark amber-orange,some copper color. Light fizzy head. Light watery body with light to medium carbonation. Starts with mild sweetness and some beany quality. A bit stale but fairly sweet and clean. Light smooth finish with a mild fruity character. roder60 (1289) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2008
Pours a clear brown color with minimal fizzy offwhite head. Aroma is sweet dark caramel and a bit of earthiness. Flavor is light and sweet and carmely, but not much else. Easy to drink, but nothing special.
