Pours clear, light gold with a quick white head.
Scent is....almost no scent....almost no taste.
A little grain, a hint of saltiness.
What precious little there is, isn’t bad, it’s just....next to nothing.
I f you want to drink all day and don’t want to worry about the effects....this is the one. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 4, 2005
aroma is somewhat pleasant much like its cunterpart Straub, appearance is a pale straw color, flavor tastes a lot like regular Straub but more watery and worse aftertaste, palate is watery of course, overall 6/20 because of low alcohol content BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - FEB 13, 2004
Oh boy, the 02/02/2004 version. lucky me. Pale straw hue, fizzy diminishing head and no lace. The aroma is that of grassy and wet grains, mild malt hints and nothing else, very weak nose. The taste had a citric twang, touch lemon zest, and buttery biscuit. Bland and watery. The hint of bitter aftertaste. Watery, fizzy, light mouthfeel. A poor brew from a poor brewery, but their stuff does appeal to the masses of western PA. Makes Iron City seem world-class. cheap (6089) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2008
Nice clean beer aroma. Pale yellow but constant streams of carbonation rise within. Best fizzy palate. Rather refreshing and friendly. Overall, nice session brew. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 11, 2006
As "Ground Hog Brew". Sharp beany hops and gaseous carbon dioxide aroma. Light, but no skunkiness. Pale straw clear color, with wispy white head. Light bodied, crisp, with medium-heavy carbonation. Carbonic tingle the whole time you drink it. Mild flavors. Decent sweetness but not much malt character. OK hops but more carbonic acidity than anything. Beany after. For a light beer, it’s actually pretty good. Certainly fresh and it’s clean and crisp at the finish. Wouldn’t want to drink it all night, but it was refreshing.

(draft @ "The Eternal Tap," Straub Brewery - St. Mary’s, PA) They added a second tap to the Eternal Tap this year, so we had to have some of it. Straw yellow pour with lots of white foam. Dry and grainy aroma with a little bitterness underneath it all. Taste is dry and grainy as well, but very smooth. Finish is smooth and watery. One of the more full-bodied and enjoyable light beers I’ve ever had, but I still prefer the original Straub. Go and take the tour! Visit the gift shop! It’s worth it. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle. Extremely light sweet grainy malt aroma. Clear pale yellow with a small white head. Malt and grass flavored water. Light carbonated body. LinusStick (3514) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 10, 2008
Ugh...just when I thought beer could not get worse. This is crap. My bottle says "Ground Hog Brew 2008". I was expecting a little more than Straub Light. Aroma of skunk and not much else. Pour was almost water colored with no head. Taste was very strong carbonation with a heavy metal taste and some adjuncts (corn possibly). Terrible. Bottle. Pours a pale yellow with no head. Aroma of light corn and skunk. Flavor is grainy and grassy with a super light body. The only good thing about this beer was the label. Chudwick (3368) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - FEB 23, 2013
12oz bottle from a flipping wine bar. Pours slightly hazy pale yellow with no head thanks to the wine server and he even took the bottle with him. Tastes like a pilsner made love with a light beer. Reminds me of burger classic light or goldmine. Weak taste and light overall. At least it’s not wine. Shit my pinky is arching out.
