Bottle from Rheged.
Appearance - opaque black with an olive sheen and a lovely fawn head.
Nose - light fudge and biscuit. Dark chocolate sticks it's head in eventually. Maybe molasses.
Taste - liquorice, molasses and burnt bread. Savoury liquorice finish.
Palate - light to medium bodied. Dry crunchy middle section. Dry burnt finish.
Overall - very good. Is this dry enough to be called a dry stout. Many normal stouts are drier than this. redders1974 (1578) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2015
