A little gusher this one, but it then poured brown with an off-white head. Smooth and soft smokiness, with both peat and ham. Lovely smooth caramel and toffee. Just a light bitterness. Very pleasant beer to drink, especially with some pork. Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 6, 2011
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Bov. Apple, leather and smoke in the nose. Great balance. Some residual sugars in the finish. A deeply delicious beer. Thanks a lot Bov! Nisse666 (7800) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 17, 2010

50 cl bottle from Systembolaget in Nordstan, Göteborg
2010 vintage, bottle 894 of 1000. Brewed 2010-08-06, sampled on December 15, 2010
Beautiful, clear, deep dark red color, smallish light brown head. Smooth, smoky nose, very very nice! Also sweet scent, and a bit fruity. Dry, cocoa, wood, alcohol, some smoke taste. Damn I really hoped the taste would live up to the scent, but alas. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.
33 cl bottle thanks ti deft! Sampled on May 6, 2012. 2011 vintage, one of 3,000 bottles.
Clear dark reddish brown color, small tan head. Peat, smoke, alcohol scent. Peat, charcoal, lactic, fresh, malt taste, smoke. Smoke aftertaste, also charcoal and peat. Campfire feeling. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
(Bottle) Clear, deep reddish brown/mahogany with a creamy nougat coloured head. The aroma is clean and smoky with smoked meat, whisky and tar up front. Undertones of salt liquorice, light chocolate, burned sugar, subtle spices (ginger and nutmeg) and maybe some dried fruits. A whisper of hops also notable. The smoke is up front, as in all good smoked beers, but this nose is tad bit more complex compared to some of the German examples. I really like the Närke smoked beers, but this might be the best Swedish example so far aroma wise. Light tones of tobacco and nail as the beer gets warmer. The flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and light acidic. Tones of smoke, meat, tar, whisky, liquorice, cocoa, dried fruits and alcohol. The mouthfeel is clean and soft but a bit numbing from the alcohol. Light (to medium) carbonation. Lingering malt and smoked meat character. Medium bodied. Fantastic nose and really good taste but the alcohol is a bummer.

Bottle 33 cl, SB. Pours deep ruby black brown with a nice creamy beige brown head leaving lace. Aroma is smokey, tary, sweet, fruity and malty. Very nice. Flavor is sweet, smokey, tary, acidy, malty, fruity and bitter. Finishes smoked tary and fruity. Almost like the Finnish tar candy. Pyrmir (6201) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - MAY 12, 2013
On tap. Aroma very smoky, peat, smoked meat, wood, earth and dark malt. Taste is also very smoky, some dried fruit, wood and soil, some mineral-like notes. Finish is nice and smoky. pilsnerrogge (2987) - Finspång, SWEDEN - OCT 10, 2010

Pours a dark reddish brown color with a dense head. Smoked ham, sausages and caramel on the nose. Dry flavour with balanced smokiness.
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2013 2010 version, bottle 991/1000 (1/3/2011). Dark brown/red with a large, creamy off-white head. Aroma: smoke, peat, medwurst, some fruits or berries in the background. Taste: smoked sausage, salami, sweet malt, some toffee and chocolate, some salt, roasted with some acidity. Smooth, but maybe a bit thin-bodied. For me, the taste could have been smokier and peatier. Nice, though. 8/4/7/3/14=3.6 Bov (13219) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - FEB 19, 2011
2011 version, Bowmore malt, Dec 2011.
Dark brown with a cappuccino head leaving creamy lacing.
Great aroma with lots of peat and whisky, chocolate.
Taste: peat, smoked sausage, licorice, some chocolate, a slight acidity, dry finish.
Better than the 2010 version.
Aroma: huge peatiness, sausage, sawdust.
Taste: peaty, sawdust, fruit, candy, salt, salami.
A=8. I’d place this between the 2010 and 2011, with 2011 as favourite.
courtesy of Per - clear brown colour with a solid but chaotic beige foam; a fair smokey aroma with notes of flowers and toffee, medium-bodied and low carbonation, slightly dry and hoppy with long smokey and caramelish notes
