Backlogging, notes from memory. One and a half year old bottle. Poured into my favorite snifter. Dark almost black colour with no head whatsoever. Consistency like soy sauce. Holy hell that aroma! Huge coffee smell, freshly ground coffeebeans, burnt notes, the alchohol is quite noticeable, sweet syrup/honey. Flavour is right up there with the nose, big coffee, dark chocolate, cocolate cake, floral honey notes. The alcohol is showing through but not as much as I would have though for 17,5 abv. Very sticky velvety mouthfeel. I for one thoroughly enjoyed this one, though it certainly isn’t for everyone.

Thanks to Plovmand. Cheers Tom! Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is viscous and dry. Modest fine carbonation. Strong earthy coffee, very strong espresso. Tangy coffee. Dry earthy coffee finish, coffee lingers on. Pretty full on! An experience!

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2014 33cl bottle, batch nov 2013. Fizzy foamhead like the Honey Badger, vanished instantly. What an explosion of aromas! Now this is some real deal coffee! Fermented honey, dates, alcohol intertwined with a rich collection of different coffee beans, licorice and sticky as pine tar. The coffee bean aroma is just amazing, wanna smell this forever! Next to the espresso-ish experience, the high alcohol fumes when sniffed are astonishing... Lovely meady siropy character. Highly underrated beer people, although this is for a small niche of tasters and palates. The 17,5 ABV doesn’t feel as high as one would suspect. Top notch coffee aromas, sticky as thick sirup and so wonderfully full bodied. Would love a crate of this beer. I’m a tad to late I presume?.. Top quality beer brewed with heart!

Overall: Cold overly sweet old coffee. Not my cup of tea!
Note: Bottle 330 ml at home. Reviewed 2014-05-20.

A: coffee, honey, alcohol. It’s true to it’s name. A: pitch black with a small brownish head, quickly dissipating. T: extremely sweet going in to extremely bitter, burnt coffee, burning alcohol, sweet aftertaste, once again it delivers on it’s name. P: Almost flat, with consistency of undiluted lemonade. Overall an interesting beer, I would recommend sharing this with someone, extremely bitter and sweet at the same time.

Nästan svart öl med lättare brunt skum. Doften är väldigt mycket kaffe, alkoholsötma och noter av bitter choklad. Smaken är som en avec. Mängder av kaffe, alkoholsötma och mörk choklad.

330ml bottle @ Maunula beer tasting. Thanks Mikko! Bottle from Systembolaget.

Black outfit with small circle brown foam. Aroma of strong cold coffee. Taste of burned coffee beans and ash. Good one for this ABV but 330ml bottle for 3persons is good enough.

TEJA (3349) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 27, 2014
Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. No head. Very dark black color. Gigantic big coffee aroma with a bit of paprika. The coffee also overpowers every other taste. Sweet and smooth coffee taste. Is this ice coffee liquor or a beer? There is nothing that resembles beer with this drink.

omhper (25955) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 19, 2014
Bottled, from Systembolaget. Perfectly black, no head. Peppery nose with paprika and coffee. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Completely dominated by coffee and paprika. Warming finish. A novelty, but not much more.

VsXsV (4572) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 13, 2014
Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, coffee, espresso, coffee, fresh coffee, toffee and ash. Taste is very sweet and light bitter with notes of coffee. Full bodied with low carbonation. Coffee.
