(Bottle) Deep red colour with frothy, pinkish white head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of raspberries, grapes, vanilla, strawberries. Fruity, tart taste with sour raspberries, strawberries, red grapes and a tart and vinous finish with a light underlying sweetness. Almost full body, with a light sweetness. Quite well balanced, hides its 10% really well. A bit one-dimensional, but well made and tasty. Nice one.

Draught at SBWF 2013. Fluffy pink head that lasts. Clowdy pink color. Crisp lactic acid and raspberry aroma. Big raspberry taste with a balanced bitterness and tiny sweetness.

Riktigt gott.

The first time... A BEER... wet my pants, on opening*** // Before it pours a dark red and treats the nose with deep sweet fruit and lingering soury brettanomyces aromas, it exploded on my desk and gushed over like a 660 year old dormant Icelandic geisir! Pure raw power!.. to say the least. My late-night reflexes though managed to react in about 3 seconds so only averagely 20 centiliters were saved. Grrr. Let’s cut the drama : 37,5cl bottle from Sweden. "Best before november 2014" it says - so probably brewed in nov 2011-2012 and aged till now. This fruit saison is soft medium sour and still full-bodied as hell. I smell grapes, framboise, raspberry, sugar, candy : yummy aromas. There’s a slight sticky sensation in the mouth, which is really tasteful. Now, normally I am used to more sour fruit lambics à la Cantillon or Tilquin, but I must say I strongly appreciated this very unique brew. A very welcome deviation! Try it if you can! With or without explosion. **Blending tip : don’t wash the glass and pour a Westvleteren 12 (now:brew from dec. 2013). The still present fruity aromas really go well together! As the Fruit Cake isn’t that soury, it doesn’t interfere with the Ph value of the WV. Love the fruit scent intertwined with the matured taste palate our exquisite Flemish Bourgogne offers. Call it blasphemy or lack of reverence for this epic beer, but after years of Westvleteren indulgences, an experiment is most welcome.

Bottle. Deep murky pink brown liquid with small to medium light pink head. Aroma of toffee, red berries, autolysis, apples, vinegar and barnyard. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of red berries, lemon peel and raw sugar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.

MattiasA (862) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 2, 2014
Sample at Malmö beer- and whiskey festival. Stronzos sour-beers are among the best i’ve tried from the brewery. The one drawback to this beer is that there’s just slightly too much going on at the same time.
