COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A monk does not concern himself the pagan rituals of Christmas. He does not care about Christmas trees, presents or Santa Claus. Christmas day is like any other day. No Christmas dinner, no elves or decorations. He does however care about beer. To sustain a healthy body as well as a clear mind in a secluded monastery does require regular intake of great beer. White Monk is that beer - dry hopped with Saaz and Chinook to spread a little extra Christmas joy!

Bottle, 7.8%. Sweet and vinous aroma. Smells a little oxidized, but is also a few years old. Cloudy grey orange colour. Very small white head. The flavour has a dull raisin note and a little yeast. Slightly citric finish. Tastes a bit old, but has a good mixture of maltiness and woody sourness.

Bottle. A small, off-white head tops an unclear, golden body. The aroma is lightly funky, but not necessarily in a good way. Fruity, alcoholic and oxidiation. It’s quite sour on the palate, heavily oxidized and with a fine bitterness. Citrusy fruityness, pale malts and some dried apricots in the flavor. Warming, full-bodied and with a suitable carbonation level. A strange one, might have been interesting while fresh. 141011

@ Havregatan. Fruktig, söt och syrlig doft och smak med jästtoner. Torr, söt och ganska besk avslutning.

larsga (7508) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 23, 2013
Medium offwhite head. Hazy brown body. Fruity densely spicy aroma with herbal notes. Acidic fruity wooden taste with herbal notes. Mid-to-thin body. Mild mouthfeel. Dryish-acidic rhubarb, spice and wood aftertaste with toffee notes. It’s odd and unusual, tasting more like a white wine barrel beer than a tripel, but not so bad. Initially I was about to pour it down the drain as an infected disaster, but on second thoughts it was kind of pleasant. (0.33l bottle, from Toft Vin, Copenhagen.)
