COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle from Hamburg’s greatest export - Britta. When straight out of the fridge, this lacked much of anything. When a bit warmer, it was certainly a bit nicer and featured plenty of nut and gentle (gentle) chicory. Refreshing and tres smooth.

Bottle, september 8th 2013. Very dark brown, almost ’schwarz’ in appearance, with a big creamy beige head. Aroma of almond, dark malt, yeast. Taste is kinda off, lightly roasted malt and mayonnaise, which is just wrong. The mayo taste escapes fast but comes back in every sip. After it disappeared there’s a nut and coffee taste, and heavy malt sweetness. Sweetness lasts long into the aftertaste. I guess (hope) the whole mayo stuff is something wrong with this bottle, taking that aside it has some qualities that reminds me of a drinkable beer, so I’ll happily give it another chanc later.

Bottle @ home. Very dark brown color with a dark red hue coming through when held into the light. Medium to full sized beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, some grains, lightly some chocolate and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad at all.

Coffee and toast aroma. Taste of green fruits, cold coffee, and chocolates. Watery on the palate.

Kort ettersmak, litt lakris.

Bottle from Systembolaget Jönköping shared with Simonsen & Carsten
Amber, tanned head. Well....a schwarzbier quite far away from being black. Smells of caramel, hints of roast and coffee, malts. Medium sweet, caramel, no roast in flavor, hints of coffee. Moderate bitter finish. Quite far away from the good schwarzbiers out there

Pours a very dark brown with orange highlights and a tan cap. Smell is coffee, burnt sugar, roasted malt. Taste is roast, dark chocolate, coffee ending a bit dry. Body is fairly light with average, soft carbonation.
