Bottle from a sixpack at Systembolaget, Sweden.
Low carbonation when opening the bottle. Big brown head that is semi lasting. Sweet chocolate aroma. A bit chocolate also in the taste. Smooth taste with small bitterness. Medium body and just a medium beer. Christos (5948) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAR 8, 2013
50 ml bottle, piured into a big english pint glass. ABV 5.0%
Deep brown colour on the body. On top a two fingers tall beige head with low retention and no lacing left behind.
Aroma is mostly roasted malts, with hints of dark chocolate.
Taste is mildly bitter and follows the nose. Lots of roasted malts and at some point the dark chocolate kicks in and gives this beer a very nice flavour, with just a tiny bit of sourness on the finish, where I also tasted some spices.
Medium on the body with light to moderate carbonation.
I got this with a six pack of different Stortebeker beers and till now this one was the best of them. BlackHaddock (8138) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2013
33cl Bottle poured into the correct vase shaped glass in the lovely Sophien’Eck a bar in Berlin on 21 Feb 2013.
I found the beer to be a lot sweeter than I expected.
Looked good in its glass: dark reddy brown in colour with a good off-white head of creamy foam that covered the vase with lacing as the beer level sank.
The aroma was of malted biscuits and toasted brown bread but with no real hints to the sweetness within the brew.
Sweet malty molasses ruled the taste completely for me: it was OK but a shock to my system. I’d had a draught Schossler Alt just before this and the contrast was huge flavour wise.
Medium to thin on the body depth, not unusual for a Schwarzbier I suppose.
Overall I enjoyed it: but I do have a sweet tooth.

Bottle. Light aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Pours an opaque dark brown to black with a quickly fading tan head. Pleasant mouthfeel and carbonation.
The taste is a bit weak though with roasted flavours and an acidic touch. I found no apparent hops but the finish is slightly bitter, which serves this beer just well. All in all an above average Schwarzbier. VictorStr (1740) - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - FEB 28, 2013

Aroma of clear roasted cereals, bit creamy. Monotone.
Pours black to... light wine red, cloudy, small top, diminish fast.
Taste is light sweet-sour with mild bitterness from roast. Dry finish, watery texture, a bit vegetably in flavor. High carbonation.
Not bad but i would say that roasted malt could be
used better :) brief_smile (110) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2013
Bottle. Cola-coloured. Aroma: sweet roasted malts, hint of smoke. Taste: roasted malts, toast, touch of spice, slightly nutty. Medium carbonation. MichaelAwesome (6551) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - FEB 2, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 Dark brown-black in colour with steady head. Taste of malt, nuts, grains and torf. Okay, but nothing special. McTapps (7003) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - FEB 1, 2013
After meat broth experiences I rather stayed away from Schwarzbier-style kind of beers, but well, you can’t have everything. This one pours in in a deep black with steady and creamy head and medium body. Taste of herbs, roast spices, nuts and rich malt. Quite spicy and rich in taste. Too much explosions for me. Bottle. Pours hazy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, smoke, caramel and roasted beans. Roasty and malty flavour ending in dark chocolate notes. A decent schwarzbier.
