Golden with large head. Taste is fruity with malts and some sweet and sour finish.
On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. This is a blurry honey colored one with a small sidesticking off-white head. It has some sweetness, caramel and grass on the aroma. Light pungent hoppy and yeasty on the flavor. A bit disturbing actually, but it smooths itself out after a while. A bit to grassy imo and it’s really mouthdrying and astringent. Nowhere near the original Doggie Claws, but not bad. 12.05.2012 sunevdj (4087) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - APR 25, 2016
On tap at CBC 2012. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Sweet with a moderate bitterness and a light sourness. Hints of sour milk. Aromas of grains with hints of hay. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish. daje (4436) - NORWAY - MAR 18, 2016
On tap at Het Oude Schooltje - Struise Brouwers @ The Old School, march 14th 2015. Dark yellow body with a medium white head. Fruity aroma with vanilla and peach. Taste of marmelade, bourbon, spicy hops, chocolate and a mild alcohol burn. Rough sweetness, a nice experimental blend but becomes a bit unbalanced towards the barley wine. (draught) slightly hazy amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of cherry stones, brown sugar and nettles, with a light hint of acetone, yeast and pale malts. flavour is mostly nettles, herbal hops and coconut, with a touch of caramel, some lemons, bubble gum and a rather dry medium-bitter finish. markextrae (4424) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - APR 28, 2015
sample from draft at ZBF 15, poured a light amber colour with a slight off head. first notice of sour tart fruits that i didn’t expect. grapefruit, lime, tart, pineapple, brett, slight hint of oak, juicy slight tart aftertate. can’t detect any bourbon, I think that a white wine barrel would be a lot better for this beer. but overall it’s still very enjoyable Hamirubi (587) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - APR 27, 2015
10cl sample at the Zythos Beer Festival (Leuven, April 25th 2015). A very sour, very spiritful amber coloured barley wine. This brew however is not unpleasant. The sourness reminds of vinegar - think of pickled gherkins -, the aroma is that of a nicely blended gueuze, the taste balances between sugary sweet and posca sour. ippopotamo36 (2383) - Rome, ITALY - MAR 19, 2015
On tap at Alvinne Craft Beer Fest in Vichte - Belgium March 2015 with markoijelena. Pours amber hazy, off-white cap with traces on the surface. Nose: light caramel, white chocolate and a hoppy background. Also some tart sour notes in the nose (cool). Mouth: high carbonation, tart and clear on the palate, pungent in a way, malts juice with a sour and clean aftertaste. Good beer! JefVerstraete (3357) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - MAR 18, 2015
@ ACBF 2015. Amber colour. Medium carbonation. Sweet malty with sour tart notes. Some lactose. Also vanilla and bourbon. Very well balanced. Good!
