Strykzone (7352) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2014
On draft at Global Brew. $15 for a pint. Some red in the hue and some haze. This beer had some serious bitterness and it was pervasive. Interesting fruit notes reminded me of cactus. It was sugary and had something like candied fruit. Toward the finish I tasted rye and the final few sips seemed to offer oatmeal. Interesting but I was kind of happy to see the bottom of the glass.

Draft. Pours copper, small tan head, minimal retention/lace. Aroma of toffee, caramel, citrus, light ester. Taste is quite sweet, lightly bitter, toffee, apple, caramel. Palate is slick, lightly cloying, light bitter and sweet finish. Seems to have lost all hop character over the Atlantic.

OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 1, 2014
Sampled from keg. Hazy orange colored body. Medium blond head. Aroma of apricot and peach, and something reminiscent of candied fruits. Some sweet toasted malts to back it up. Taste is sweet malty, almost sugary. Lots of fruity and resiny bittering hops to balance. Medium to full body. Smooth and oily in the mouth. Lasting bitter-sweet ending. A sweethart.

Looks nice. Good lacing and pretty layer of foam. Nose and taste a little weird. Kinda light pine and also something like watermelon in the back palate. But not the worst.

phaleslu (10239) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2013
Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Struise version. Pours a clear amber-orange color with a small white head that settles into a lasting ring. Aroma of sweat, toasted sugar, caramel, citrus fruits, and grass - a bit restrained, leaning maltier. Flavor of caramel and toasted malts, wet leaves, grass, hay, citrus, and floral notes. Medium-bodied, with a bitter, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Flavor redeems the sub-par aromatics, but it’s a decent DIPA.

b3shine (8864) - Indiana, USA - DEC 12, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent dark orange with thin off-white lacing. Smells of bitter hops and a touch of unaversive soapiness. Tastes like it smells, but less robust. Average on the palate. Alright.

Best before 30/11/2014 Pours cloudy amber with some foam. Nose is very hoppy, don’t really get much else. Taste wise I didn’t get much bitterness at first but there’s a lingering taste in the end.

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours dark golden orange with a small creamy head. Aroma is tropical hops with passion fruit and strawberries. Creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter with pine and grapefruit, as well as sweet apricots and lychee and a long bitter citrusy finish.

alexsdad06 (10378) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a hazy dark golden /amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some sweet malts, citrus and tropical fruit hops, some resiny hops, strong bitterness through the finish. I like this because it has what I would expect an imperial/double ipa to have ;ample hop character, big malt base with a strong bitterness to the finish.

Tmoney99 (14455) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 6, 2013
Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy sour citrus hop aroma. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate alcohol bite at the finish. Good brew that exceeded my expectations.
