deep black colour with a nice mocha coloured head. deep dark roasted malt flavours, coffee, nice bakers chocolate, typical dark fruits, ash, caramel. well i was suprised once again! after the last couple of very bad tasting batches i’m interested back again!

taken from notes. Sample at the brewery. Pours deep black with a deep marroon head. Silky soft body, not as overwhelmingly sweet as the normal (bottled) one, but the roastiness comes out better. This pairs better with food imp than the normal one, which is more for degustation purposes.

Black colour, no head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted malts. Flavour of coffee, cacao, malts, quite spicy, soy sauce. Quite light carbonation, silky mouthfeel. Finish chocolate and coffee.
(from 25cL hand bottle @ RBBWG III, Gent 2014. Thanks for sharing, Danko!!)

ThirstyBird (3032) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2014
Hand bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Danko. Appears super dark brown with tan highlights and a light brown head. The smell is roasted malt, deep fruit, berries, molasses, brown sugar. Taste is roasted malt, char, deep fruit and molasses. Full in body with mild carbonation - smooth.

Drank from tap with Thijs and John at Struise brewery (bierlokaal), 22-2-2014. Loved it, just like regular Black Albert but slighty better!

PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - FEB 3, 2014
Not really sure what to do with the "real ale" ratings, but apparently this once is oké. APPEARANCE: black beer, small stable beige head. NOSE: sweet, chocolate, coffee, fruity. TASTE: sweet, fruity, bitter. Liked the regular version better.

sebletitje (10704) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JAN 20, 2014
Sampler bouteille @ RBBWG III, thanks Danko.

25 cl. hand bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Danko. Bottled shortly prior to consumption. Lighter black with no head. Nose is sweet, mellow mocha, caramel, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, mocha, touch soy sauce & charcoal, bitter herbs, overripe fruit. Creamy, lower carb. Solidon its own but cannot hold a candle to the regular one. RIS is prob. not the style that benefit the most from this kind of treatment.
