COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian Royal Stout was brewed as a tribute to one of America’s best pubs. Jennifer and Chris Lively who run the place may be proud of Ebenezers Pub. Not only do they have 35 beers on draught, most of these are hard to find Supreme Belgian Ales. Above that, they have one of the most extensive bottle-conditioned beer lists through different bottling dates we have ever seen. Not only can you drink almost any Belgian beer, the worlds best brewerys are represented. A lot of the guests talk about the American Kulminator, yet with that difference that the Belgian inspired food, is simply great. Black Albert was brewed and crafted with a 100% Belgian ingredients. Pours a blacker than black beer with an inch of dark tan head that lingers as it cascades into itself. Nice aroma of bitter-sweet chocolate, fresh torrified coffee beans, barley, candy sugar, complex fruits, and floral hops. At the front, there is spiced baker’s chocolate, fresh mocha, caramel like barley touches, and underlying hints of dried fruits which marries the back of your palate and features a Top, and well integrated but not overbearing hop flavour. The after-taste is well balanced and shows a panorama of extreme sensations like chocolate and coffee bitters, a plum cake richness that covers the palate, and a crisp impression of hop bitters that brings elegance and freshness into this massive brew. A trip I took to Belgium a couple years back I brought the Black Albert, some Westy 12, and others to Hamburg and we did a couple tastings. The Westy 12 was grand, but everybody no exception was more and most flummoxed by the Black Albert. I got a few bottles today at Hop Duvel in Ghent, and I thought the Prearis Quad I had just before it was sublime, and hard to top, but the Black Albert (Batch 0) is such a no-contest slam down. I think what it does is take densest burnt smoky malts, and sends it all up like fireworks with brilliant yeasts, sugars, and finest carbonation. It is a rich, complex, heavy-body-by-nature thing, that somehow instead manages to explode, into sparklers and stars.

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Kremowy, mega czekoladowy, dużo sosu sojowego i kawy. Klasyk, kawał znakomitego piwa.

A top quality example of a Belgian stout, officially a Imperial Russian Stout. Great hoppy flavor. The head disappeared a bit quickly. Had a full body which cleverly masked the high alcohol content. Add a shot of Cassis and it is a winning cocktail.

One of my favorites. Aromas and flavors are powerful with a big roasted malt base. Coffee with a dry bitterness. Belgian yeast hints.

Apparence : Noire, col brun, rtention moyenne-faible, prsence dune fine dentelle, carbonatation moyenne.

Bottle in Cafe Rose Red, Bruges. Pours inky black with a big frothy beige head. Fruity aroma of black fruits. The taste is quite sweet and fruity. More black fruitswith liquorice, chocolate, coffee, light spice and a slightly more bitter finish. No sign of the alcohol. Sticky and full bodied. A bit too sweet for me, though still a fine beer.

Pours pitch black, thick, with persistent creamy brown head.Aroma of sweet molasses, milk and dark chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste is sweet caramel/chocolate with medium bitter toasted malts and coffee, slight adstringency. FULL bodied, thick, soft carbonation. Super complex, lots of flavors and aromas, alcohol very well inserted. Certainly one of the best beers ive had.
