Capped 750 from Berkeley Bowl West. Pop the cap, smell the berry. Pours black with a small dark tan head. Aromas of berries, chocolate and port. Love port. Bottle oozes a bit of foam after the pour. Full bodied. Lots of berry. Noticeable heat, but not objectionable. Think I’m getting some wood, pretty sure I’m getting port. No question that berry is ever present. It’s not dry, but there’s enough bitterness to work that out. It’s strongly flavored and delicious. DSG (14922) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - OCT 26, 2014
Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom C’s place. 2012 bottle. Black with a big brown head. Slightly sourish aroma with a bit of roast, kinda vinous, with berries and some chocolate. Sweet flavor with a light sourish note, chocolate, berry notes, some coffee, a vinous touch and an alcoholic touch. Full-bodied and rounded. Great. beer_est_deus (1306) - örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 21, 2014
Mörkt i lokalen men verkar vara svart med ett brunt skum. Doft: Choklad, russin, malt, trä, skogs jord, madeira, hårdkokt hallon sylt. Svag 8 Smak: Pralin, kaffe, kola, avslagen cola, russin, ek, alkohol, hårt rågbröd, kanderat socker. Härligt trögflytande i munnen. Leighton (21496) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2014
Draft at the Old School in March 2013 - Oostvleteren, Belgium. Pours thick black with a dense, brown foam head. Burnt dark sugars on the nose with moderate roast, dark fruits and candi sugar. Hugely sweet flavor with notes of roasted malts, char, fruity-berry sweetness, alcohol, bitter earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Warming finish with lots of chocolate, roasted malts, ash, burnt candi sugar, burnt toast. Very nice. c0fein (660) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 4, 2014

Straight pungent aroma. Flavour of chocolate, sweetness and some berries. Not so good as expected but still good. Maybe too "fresh".
Bottle share thanks to GothGargoyle! Pours extremely dark brown, with gritty lacing. Aroma of smoke/roasted malt, cocoa powder, black berry, salt, potent vanilla, wood. Taste is upfront cocoa bitter, with a subtle berry sweetness. Long dry finish. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - AUG 23, 2014

2014.08.20 - Struise Damnation I Black Berry Albert - 750ml bottle in goblet glass. Vintage 2012.
Aroma: You get more of the roasted barley in the aroma than the fruit. Taste is a bit opposite.
Appearance: Pours dark, maybe around 40 on SRM scale. Not black black but very very deep brown. Short lived ruby/tan head/carbonation.
Taste: Berry. Obvious but not overpowering. Good balance. You get very little of the roasted barley, or it's in very good balance with the berries. Virtually no trace of the 13% abv. Nice.
Palate/Mouthfeel: It's a bit creamy. But not overly heavy.
Aroma 7/10, Appearance 4/5, Taste 8/10, Palate 4/5, Overall 16/20

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2015 75cl bottle shared in a Struise glass. Pours (glugs) a nice black colour with a generous (very) dark beige head which lasts well throughout the drink. Aroma is rich malts and dark fruits. Taste is less rich than Black Albert and less complex than Coffee Club but has a style all of its own. A lot fruitier than its other "Damnation Counterparts" that I have tried. Very much an Imperial (or Royal as Stuise label it) stout with a huge mouthfeel (as you would expect); the blackberries are not easily identifiable however, the lighter, fruitier quality imparted is clearly reflected in the end product. Gives the impression of being easier to drink than other Damnations (somewhat unexpectedly compared to VIII) which is not to its discredit. Unmistakably Struise in its style and execution and an unmissable edition of the Black Damnation series. Cannot wait for the next instalment... Ticked this at a fest a while back, but I was too far gone to give it a proper rate. Taster at Aces and Ales. Pours deep dark brown with haldly any medium brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate and blackberry, a touch of strawberrry too. This is a nice dark, chocolatey base with a bit of coffee and a hint of fruit - raspberry, blackberry, dark cherry. Really nice and smooth, hides the abv well.
