The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melia’s (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ila’s Distillers Version 1995".

Great beer. Roasted malt was heavy with hops at the finish. Sweetness from oak with chocolate and whisky. Smooth and heavy, dark as night.

750ml Bottle at home, split with the Beast, 3rd March 17. Pours black, thick, little head, sticks to the glass. Aroma is heady, liquorice, coffee, peat, liquor, wood. Taste is liquorice, sweet, peat, whiskey, barrel, wood, complex, drinks so smoothly, would not know this is 13%. Delicious impy, maybe one of the best in the series for me.

Proefglas van 75cl-fles in de Proefloft van Alvinne te Moen. Merci Glenn! U: Zwart met mooie donkerbruine schuimkraag. G: Geroosterde mout, koffie met licht geturfde toets. S: Geroosterde mout en koffie in de aanzet. Zoete toetsen, gedroogd fruit en pure chocolade. SUPER! M: Lichte carbonatie en lekker sticky.

Heerlijk donkerzwart bier met bijna geen schuimkraag. Koffie, tabak, leer, beetje rook, pure chocolade. Dik vol van smaak met een lichte peated afdronk. Een sipper. Genieten met hoofdletter G.

16 & 17/09/2016 @home - 75cl bottle from a trade with Jurgen Simoen. Thick black colour with nice brown head leaving a nice thick lacing, even a day after opening the bottle. Nose is dark malts, light peat. Taste is first dark malts, heavy roast, some sweetness, vanilla, chocolate, some peat. Very complex but drinking nicely. Wow!

mariuspoenari (2924) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2016
