The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbans mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melias (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ilas Distillers Version 1995".

Tasted on 1/26/12 from a 330mL bottle purchased from the Struise Webshop. Pours absolutely pitch black, with a very thick brown head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is super dark and roasted coffee and dark chocolate with some molasses, and a very dry and peaty Islay Scotch aroma. The flavor is dark chocolate and molasses up front, moving to the more roasted notes of coffee, and the oaky and smokey peated Islay Scotch. The body is massive with just lighter than average carbonation and a very long bitter roasted coffee and smokey Isaly Scotch finish.

Heerlijk donkerzwart bier met bijna geen schuimkraag. Koffie, tabak, leer, beetje rook, pure chocolade. Dik vol van smaak met een lichte peated afdronk. Een sipper. Genieten met hoofdletter G.

16 & 17/09/2016 @home - 75cl bottle from a trade with Jurgen Simoen. Thick black colour with nice brown head leaving a nice thick lacing, even a day after opening the bottle. Nose is dark malts, light peat. Taste is first dark malts, heavy roast, some sweetness, vanilla, chocolate, some peat. Very complex but drinking nicely. Wow!

Pours a deep dark brown color. Small tan head head that lasted throughout. Aromas of bourbon and wood. Flavor was a lot of bourbon, hints of smoke, chocolate. Full bodied and creamy. Tasted more bourbon than beer. WOW, this is a flavorful beer!!

Bottle from trade with Douberd, shared with friends. Many thanks! Massive gusher. Pours black with tan head. Chocolate and cherry aroma and taste, not so much else, slightly sour. Most probably not how its supposed to be even though it tasted quite nice.

Bottle, older vintage, bb December 2016. Pours a jet black beer with a nice, medium sized, creamy brownish head on top. Aroma of blackstrap molasses, licorice, roasted malts, sweet syrup and no booze. Flavor is intense sweet, loads of cloying, sticky molasses and licorice. Slightly peaty and oaky in the very back. Incredibly full, well balanced and softly carbonated. No real alcohol burn, though the sweetness says it all. Very powerful, very nice. Long sweet aftertaste and sticky mouthfeel. Great stuff.
