4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted on 1/26/12 from a 330mL bottle purchased from the Struise Webshop. Pours absolutely pitch black, with a very thick brown head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is super dark and roasted coffee and dark chocolate with some molasses, and a very dry and peaty Islay Scotch aroma. The flavor is dark chocolate and molasses up front, moving to the more roasted notes of coffee, and the oaky and smokey peated Islay Scotch. The body is massive with just lighter than average carbonation and a very long bitter roasted coffee and smokey Isaly Scotch finish.
Some roasted notes, choco, black with a thin brown head, full body, thick, quite intense with a bit of salt/minerally notes i suppose from peated whiskey...good. fombe89 (4013) - Asturias, SPAIN - SEP 13, 2017

750ml brown bottle that crushed my sobriety at RBAG 2017. Deathy black pour, oily, coated the glass with it’s evil deliciousness. The pour was from the lower part of the bottle, a lot of cloudiness. Head holds itself to a thin beige ring of foam. The nose is winy, roasty, grapes. The taste - chocolate malt, roasted malt, wood, caramel, toasty. Some alcohol. Big, big, big. This was delightful.

The absolute pinnacle of Black Albert barrel aging. Intense and rich, boozy and there’s a detective in the bushes. ***** Ferris (16487) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 15, 2017
