COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

Bottle 33 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours cloudy and opaque - almost muddy - dark brown, close to black, with a light brown head. Distinct hard roasted coffee in the nose - almost chili-like. Very full body, prunes and other dark dried fruits, plenty of burned malts and coffee. Burned bitterness in the finish. 040610

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes fast schwarzes Bier mit geringer beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, viel Kaffee, Whiskey, Vanille. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, intensiver Kaffee, Alkohol, holzig.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2012 Bottle a Mes Tasting. Pours muddy black with a large, beige head. Espresso and mocha on the nose. Glavor is good and sweet, plenty of tar, chocolate syrup, coffee beans, light vanilla, booze, charred and roasted malts. Full in body with lively, chewy carbonation and lots of alcohol warmth. Roasty chocolate finish, lots of boozy tang, some coffee bitterness and some dark sugar. Really nice stuff. (4.4)

Bottle shared with Paul at the Hoppy Loft, Brussels. Pours deep and dark with a huge, brown foam head. Super thick head. Massive espresso nose. Sweet flavor with big coffee character. Lots of roast. Some chocolate syrup. Full bodied with medium, creamy carbonation. Cocoa and coffee dominate the finish. Awesome beer. (4.5)

Koelschtrinker (21175) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 5, 2011
Top! 12/15/12/14//14

Bottle at home - 15/09/12. Extreme dark brown verging on black the mocha head soon thins to absolutely nothing. Big espresso coffee nose, sweet roasted malts, more espresso and a little tirimisu. Tastes of espresso, sweet dark sugars, chocolate, coffee. The alcohol is very well disguised and integrated into the beer. Full bodied, a little soft carbonation with an espresso finish. Very smooth. Great coffee imperial stout, but I enjoyed the Mocha bomb more.

On tap at Pre ZBF 2010 and bottle at Mes’ Bite Hat Moon tasting. Wow that is a lot of coffee on the aroma. Massive coffee. Very smooth in the mouth and in the swallow. Lots of coffee on the end too. Lovely. Slightly drier in the bottle and the coffee is more balanced. Exceptional, if you love coffee, you will love this beer.

Bottle. Pitch black, nice lasting brown head. Coffee aroma, bitter, milky, tobacco, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, tar, smoked. Coffee flavor, licorice, cocoa, tar, vanilla, roasted, smoked notes, hoppy, dry woody notes. Coffee finish, roasted and almost sourish.

mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 7, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2012 11.2 oz. bottle, pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of dark roasted espresso beans, burnt / roasted malt, and tar - very darkly roasted. First sip reveals an intensely flavourful and sticky, syrupy impie, with notes of caramel, dark roasted espresso, syrup, berries, rum and vanilla. Palate is extremely viscous and sticky, with the rum barrels ending off. Very complex and rum-dominant, though bordering on too rich. Excellent.
