COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2012 24.00 Bottle ordered from belgianshop.com. Pours a dark molasses but produces a head thats more on the carbonated side which takes all the head away quickly. The aromas go very deep. Its like perfume. "Hey spray some coffee club cologne on me man." I can see it now...Intense coffee bean, big roasted/burnt malts of chocolate, wood, tobacco(wow), honey, and vanilla. Flavors dont quite match that intense nose show but pack a phenomenal punch! I’ve never tasted a coffe stout like this one. The tobacco and coffee start up first with the roasted/burnt malts following. Theres a slight dark fruit in the middle or at least comes off as such. Some lesser notes of wood and chocolate with the vanilla almost hidden. Leaves a big stain of flavor that coates the palate, which makes it harder to enjoy all the great complexities. Needs to be sipped and left at room temperature in a basement. Medium sweet, medium bitter, very complex, light smokyness, strong aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden. Worth buying and at best a memory. This version makes its mark as a unique memorable induction of the series which deserves appreciation.

Original version, 33 cl bottle. Pitch black color with brown head. Aroma has slightly tart dried fruits like figs and raisins and some cognac type notes. Taste is also slightly acidic, quite dry but fruity and complex. Blueberries, chocolate and some wood. Really smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. This beer really aged gracefully, complex, no alcohol burn, really smooth on the palate.

Bottle, silk screened, shared @ Brouwcafé de Molen. Gusher!! Pours a very deep dark brown, reddish beer with a big tanned head on top. Aroma is slightly tart, molasses and loads of coffee with wood. Also some chocolate notes detected. Flavor is sweet and tarty at the same time, must be the infected batch I guess. Not really disturbing, but defintely noticeable in the palate. The coffee manages to overpower some of it though. Aftertaste is again a bit tart by the infection. Just good.
