Draft. Creamy large tan head atop black body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, Belgian yeast, light anise. Taste is medium sweet, roast, some coffee, light milk chocolate. Slightly watery light body. Impressive attempt at a low alcohol stout, and it’s possible that it can’t be done better. Tap. Pours opaque black with average, creamy beige head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is light roasted malt, plums, raisins, faint woody and earthy notes. Tap at Max’s Taphouse. Pours clear black with a frothy tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is light roast and chocolate malt with earthy hops and prune esters. Draft at Churchkey. I’ll preface this review by mentioning that I’m giving this beer a bit of a handicap due to the style, but not much of one because this was pretty enjoyable. Tap at Het Oude Schooltje, Oostvleteren - 20/10/12. ABV on the tap label listed as 1.8%.
Pitch black with a mahoosive coffee head that retains well - looks the picture.
Light roast malt nose with a touch of chocolate and some mineral tones.
Taste follows nosee with cocoa, a little coffee, light caramel notes and hops.

On tap @ Stone brewery. Looks really dark in the glass, like any RIS would, to be honest. The aroma doesn’t give away the low alcohol either. Beautiful flavours of figgy fruit, light tobacco, light roast, so flavourful for the ABV. Sure it’s thin and watery, but the complexity for this little brew is truly astonishing! If I were the designated driver for the night, I would not feel deprived drinking this. Beauty.
