Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Deep dark brown with no head. Nice nose of chocolate and raisins. Oily texture. Up front taste of dark fruits, berries and caramel and toffee. Quite sweet. With some spicyness in the end. Interesting and quite all over the place. Borresteijn (7174) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 12/20/2009 33cl Bottle from De Molen. Black colour with red edges, very thin creamy beige head. Aroma of earthy liquorice root, oak, sour fruits, light vanilla and roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, roasted malts and a bit of chocolate, tart/sour fruits, a bit wine-like, wood, powdery liquorice in the finish. Light to medium bodied, thin mouthfeel. Sourness and thin mouthfeel ruin the beer completely imo. Didn’t finish it. 53429=2.3 Re-rate 16/12/2012 : 75cl Bottle at Sloshfest, Port-barrel aged. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, coffee, berries. Flavour is thin, watery, light coffee, light chocolate, overcarbonated, light coffee finish. Light-bodied. Disappointing, once more. 735212 Joakgust (1456) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 18, 2009
Bottle, 33cl - Opaque black beer with no head. Aroma is malty with sour, vinous notes of licorice, vanilla, raisins and wood. Flavor is sourish fruity with notes of overripe fruit, vanilla, licorice and yet again wine like substances, perhaps oak. Very enjoyable, tastes like it would be stronger alcohol wise. mar (5417) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 19, 2009
Bottle thanks to bman1113vr. Deep brown almost black with a khaki head. Nose is dried fruits, caramel and chocolate. Nice thickness with a rich roasted chocolate flavor and some slight coffee. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 16, 2009

Bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR. I got the very bottom of this bottle. Murky brown pour. Smells very bready. Sweet malts with some coffee notes. Very very sharp taste. Upfront coffee that is so sweet it hurts. Would like to try again with a better sample. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 6, 2009
Bottle via a trade with daknole. Pours with a fading tan head over a clear, deep brown body. Aroma of oak, raisins, chocolate, and coffee (rich espresso). Taste is raisins, dirt, chocolate, coffee, plums, slightly vinous, and nutty. Light bubbles and a creamy mouthfeel. blutt59 (6564) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 6, 2009

Bottle thanks to Keith! Poured medium-viscosity reddish-brown with a short-lived cap of tan head. The aroma picked up sour oak and coffee notes accented by a little dark fruit and char.. warm and inviting, but it still seemed to be missing something. The flavor found oaky tartness throughout.. light-moderately roasted coffee and black patent maltage at the core.. just a light earthy bitterness with some vanilla and more oak on the edges.. finished slick and quick with surprisingly little substance. Medium-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. the barrel itself wasn’t huge here, but the underlying beer couldn’t quite stand up to it. TimE (5827) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 6, 2009
Dark brown color. Big charcoal, oak, marshmallow, nutty, dark chocolate nose. Very distinctive. A bit thin body with charcoal, cherries and dark chocolate, but it is a bit sour. Lingering charcoal cherry finish. Nose promised more than delivered.
