Tap at CBC. This was my least favorite Struise beer pouring at the festival but a few people seemed to really like it. This was 100% mega acetobacter bomb in your face. Ridiculously sour to near straight vinegar. At this point in my beer adventures, I would stay away from acetic acid bombs. Though only a year or so ago I didn’t mind them at all. Loved the super sour heat and hot hot near pickle juice character. So....depends on what type of sours you are into. I love lactic, yogurty palates but some of the guys I met in Copenhagen thought the yogurtiness was gross and vinegar was great. (??) Vibrant clear peach pour with mega acid cut on the foam. Vinegar nose. Vinegar taste. Hot hot burning palate. Some people asked at the Struise booth for our "grossest beer". I gave them this. Then on person said, "That was not gross enough." So I poured him have Cherilensis and half a hurricane splash of all 29 other taps. He came back and said, "Now THAT was gross! Great job!"
Golden, little to no head.
Nose is sour and tart.with alot of cherries..
Taste is super tart and dry with loads of cherries. Lasting sourness..
Light to medium body with lots of carb

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2012 Sample @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Pours hazy reddish golden with a big frothy pinkish offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and sour with sour cherries, cherry pits, lemon juice, barnyard, wheat crackers, hay, grapefruit juice, lemon zest, vinegar and hints of gastric acid. Taste is intensely sour with lemon juice, sour cherries, grapefruit juice, gastric acid, barnyard, lemon zest, cherries, gooseberries, unripe currants, wheat crackers and subtle hints of sour milk. Mouthfeel is mouthpuckering, tart, dry and medium bodied. Finish is tart and sour with sour cherries, lemon juice, hay and lemon zest. One of the sourest beers I’ve ever had. Burns your insides but in a good way. I find it quite good but can see how it would be enjoyed in rather small quantities. Draught at CBC. Hazy orange with a reddish hue and a small, but stable white head. Nose is vinegar, cherries, urinal. Taste is even more tart and sour - unaged vinegar, citric notes, unripe cherries, hayish maltiness, notes of acetone. Rips your throat apart. If this is fresh, it’s so fresh it hurts! Orange, hazy. White bubbles for the head. Little lacing. Very acetic aroma. Vinegar and nail polish. Taste is as if cider vinegar had been bottled by accident. Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Somewhat hazy golden beer with a small offwhite head. Sourish rubber aroma, fruity, grapes and citrus. Sour flavor, rubber, leather, grass and hay notes, apples, grapes, sweetish notes. Fruity citrus finish. Fresh and nicely balanced.
