4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2015 Pours a tuilé black (brown rim) with a quickly dissipating milk chocolate-like head. Aroma is mostly alcohol with a well-hidden roastiness. Taste is sweet with not much bitterness and a little burn. Flavors are mostly burnt grains and alcohol. Palate is nice and creamy with ample carbonation. This is good beer, bro.
First expression - boozy and thick. But then - its not so hard to drink it. There is something strange in this beer, unusual. Notes of whiskey, then liquior. Sweet, coffee, hay... black as night. Aroma is nice. Then it becomes little bit hard to drink. Really strange beer - but normal of Struise. I see people dont like this beer and people that say - my favourite. Anyway - one of the best beers. Evilkniamhel (1034) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle from beer palace, Oslo. Pours opaque black with coffee crema head. Nose of molasses, burnt toffee, coffee, Christmas cake, boozy. Taste is brown sugar, ginger nut biscuits, toast, roasted malts. ctipping (2202) - Florida, USA - JUN 17, 2017
330 mL bottle. 2011 bottle originally reviewed 11/29/2012.
Black with less of a head than Black Albert. Similar thick mocha collar.
Nose is light bourbon with a touch of barrel character. Chocolate and cherry comes through, similar to Black Albert. Strangely, not as boozy smelling as the 5-year-old bottle of Black Albert I had.
Tastes of vanilla and bourbon up front, but subtle. Much more of the cherry flavor followed by rich chocolate. The bourbon is back in the end along with a bitterness that I find strange. Falls a little short of the base beer here.
Well carbonated. Pretty chewy aside from feeling a bit too overcarbonated at points.
I prefer Black Albert to this, although this is quite good on its own. Just seems that some of the characteristics that make Black Albert great have been pushed aside by the barrel, which isn’t strong enough to be the centerpoint of the flavor. jgb9348 (6437) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 7, 2017
Super dark coloured brown body with a thinnish, oily slick of a tan head. Aroma of very rich malts, soy sauce, a bit of caramel, malt and a big dose of anise throughout. Full-bodied; Strong rich roasted malt flavours with some oats, grain and alcohol front and centre. Aftertaste shows much more of an assertive matl characteristic and a deep pungent bite of anise. Overall, a nice rich beer with plent of malt and even more self pungency and depth than I saw at first.A nice beer, but definitely pungent and bitter throughout. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from SuperMarket Liqours in Fort Collns, Colorado on on 05-June-2017 for US$6,99 sampled in my hotel room later in the day.

Pite na Urusie. Kawa, czekolada i wanilia.
