Previously 13% abv, 11% abv from 2014->. Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

LCRBM08, courtesy of Carlo and Urbain. Pours dark black/brown with a dense brown head. Aroma is smooth roasted malty and vanilla. Spiced and slight wineous. First flavour impressions are wineous and roasted malty. Smooth and mild chocolate malty over the tongue. Goes into a lovely fruity and slight warming and smooth finish. Perfectly balanced.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a very dark brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and wood, leading to a dry roasted and alcoholic finish.

Bottled. Quite much black colour with mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is sour wood, mild roasted malts, caramel and some notes of alcohol. Flavour is liquorice, toffee, some wood, some alcohol, spices and also some dark riped fruits. Quite sweetish sour aftertaste with some toasted notes.

Bottle poured by Urbain the Maestor at the schoolhouse. Dark maroon color with a smallish tan head and moderate lacing. Aroma of smoke and cocoa powder, with a background of bourbon and oak. Smooth flavor with subtle smoke and bourbon, background only, and a finish of chocolate. Good body. Always a pleasure to drink with the master. Drinkability improved drastically when Urbain did his special blend with Woodford Reserve bourbon. Aroma was amazing, but taste was relatively unaffected, except for a bump in the body. Urbain, we saw you sneak the reminder of the bourbon from the glass!

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Very black, beige head. Slight menthol aroma. Sweet and full bodied withsome asphalt. the whisky flavour is quite subtle, but takes the sharp edges of Black Albert and stills some of the inheritent brutality. Licorice mingles with bourbon in a careful finish. A tamed monster.

On tap at Borefts I. Opaque black beer. Short lived milk chocolate coloured head. Rich chocolatey malt. The oaking is quite subtle. A little sweet brandy comes in just before the dry finish.
