ACBF. L’altra joia del festival. Mermelada de taronja. Aromàtica, gustosa. És tant densa que al carbònic li costa arribar a la superficie per fer una corona d’escuma. Obra d’art! fewa (41) - Beersel, BELGIUM - MAR 4, 2012
sweet malts, sugar and alcohol in the nose, with a very sweet malty taste with nice hoppy bitterness in the end. Feel is very thick. Great beer. rvdoorn (13) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2012
I had this one at the Alvinne festival. Only 240 bottles made of this one and sold for charity at and for Alvinne.
Look: A dark yellow brown color with a nice white-yellow head.
Smell: Brown sugar, malts, honey, caramel, floral hops and some alcohol.
Taste: Very sweet molasses, malts, honey, brown sugar with a perfectly balanced hoppy bitterness in the end and some warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Soft carbonation, extremely smooth and thick.
Overall: A very impressive beer, it is so balanced and thick. The alcohol is perfectly hidden. According to Urbain this beer can age for at least 20 years, and it will develop even more into a balanced barley wine. I am not sure if I will be able to cellar my bottles so long, but can’t wait to try this one with some age on it!

Draft @ ACBF 2012: dark red fruit/brown/amber with a huge creamy tanned head, smells heavily of syrup, concentrated caramel, syrup hops, liquorish, lots of gummy bears, spirity but pretty much no booze on the nose, taste is heavily sweet at first lots of syrup, grenadine, cowberry jam, concentrated caramel, very sweet spices, sweet wheat, lots of gummy bears, aftertaste is an initially heavily surprising burst of booze, very boozy, this is like drinking liquor & stronger even, not very beer-like, think direction of spirit’s, not like for instance the DB XI is, touch cowberries jam in the finish, small sips only, body is quite thick syrupy, jam-like, it is highly questionable a lot of people could finish a 33 cl. let alone a 75 cl. bottle of this, most had difficulties with their sample’s and were splitting it, the booziness of this is questionable but I for one liked the sweet syrupy nature of it, the booze I am less sure about but this was a very insane beer, people had mixed feelings about it, as far as the 75 cl. bottles are concerned, given the price I would never consider & people who say that it needs aging, I don’t fully believe, not sure what people expect the aging to do with this, given the price, I doubt I will ever find out what aging does to it, I though it was a very interesting experiment, it does lean closer to experiment than anything fully consumable, there will be divided opinions but given how many people bought this & that many are looking for it & it sold out very quickly out at, at least one place for a very nice surplus price, financially it was a success, although some people seem to be already abandoning the path that things are taking here but more than enough are still enthusiast tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - MAY 16, 2012

Sample @ SB&WF 2016. Dark amber body with a low head. Sugar, caramel, brandy, dried figs, apple pie. Not all that boozy that you could expect from the high abv. ipanema211 (1) - BELGIUM - MAR 3, 2012 does not count
Tasted at ACBF. Pours with a thick yellow head. The aroma is very nice, smells sweet and intriguing. Tastes extremely malty and sweet as well, and very sticky! The alcohol is subtle but you do kind of taste it's a dangerous beer!
Bought a bottle at the festival to support our friends @ Alvinne.
A very nice gesture made by the guys from Struise! GothGargoyle (2587) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2012
Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Golden brown with a large off-white head that leaves behind some nice lacing. Aroma is apricot, honey, peach, caramel, dates. Sticky mouthfeel and extremely sweet on the palate, almost cloying. Taste is Belgian candi sugar, honey, caramel, dried apricots, mango, orange marmalade. Sweet and delicious, you wouldn’t pick it as 25% - there is only a hint of booze.
