draft @ ACBF 2012 // head was beyond ridiculous (especially considering the ABV), Urbain was scraping it off with a spatula as he was pouring it from a pitcher // murky brown orange // smells very, very hoppy, peaches, apricots, mandarin, super concentrated pine resin,… very sweet also loads of sticky sugar (mainly candy) & fruity syrupiness,… // taste is very sweet at first (almost got a five squared flashback), fruit syrup, very fruity, candy sugar, nectar, honey, cloudberry jam,… then bam huge lasting unbalanced almost floral bitterness, huge dry pine hop finish (very, very piny – you get the 300+ IBU’s), booze, liqueur,… // syrupy body, low carb. // unbalanced, ridiculous, memorable & special NikkTwist (3256) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 6, 2015
Draft at Monks. Hazy amber pour that started with some foam, though it completely disappeared within a few minutes. No lace. Very strong hop bite. Big bitter dried hop flavors. Dark oranges. Autumn leaves. Red plums. Some floral and herbal notes. Hints of peat, cinnamon and apple cores. Bitter enough to numb your tongue. Surprisingly not all that sweet - certainly less so than most huge IPAs with giant IBUs. So kudos for that! Pretty extraordinary! Lubiere (13994) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 23, 2015
A golden amber DIPA with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light herbaceous character, floral hops, light dank notes, light oxidation, nice. In mouth, a smooth fruity caramel malt with restrained floral hops, light figs, plum, light pleasant oxidation, treacle, alcohol warmth, well done. On tap at Monk’s café.
