[email protected]_O’s. Yeasty, aroma, quite citric, also some spice like cinnamon and clove as well. Palate is spritzy and fizzy to start, but starts to soften as you let it sit. Warming alcohol in the finish, with more citric bitterness as well.

Big bottle at London Shindig. Hazy yellow colour. Spicy, peppery aroma with plenty of estery fruit too. Yeasty and fruity on the palate. Comes over like a sort of cross between a Wit and a strong Blond. Very flavoursome, but I have to say that, like some others, I found the alcohol rather too intrusive - a bit volatile and hot, leaving a distinct afterburn.

Pale yellow, with a lasting white head. Complex aroma with citrus, passion fruit, some spice and some alcohol. Dry flavour with pepper, fruit and a slight hint of alcohol. Dry and quenching finish.

[email protected]_o shindig. 2005 vintage. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is wheat, sourness, alcohol and a lot of fruits and spices. Flavour is big spicyness, alcohol and lots of citrusfruit. Long alcohol burn in the aftertaste. Pleasant!

Bottle at the Chris_o shindig. Hazy yellow, nice white cap. Mint, nettle, tomato and lemon balm aroma. Saazy hop flavor, a fair amount of heat, lemon menthol finish. A little hot.

Magnum at Chris_o’s brought by Harrisoni. Hazy yellow with a big white head. Very highly carbonated but not a gusher Alcoholic, spicy aroma. Lemon fruit, spice and alcohol burn. Lots of alcohol heat but it doesn’t spoil it.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2008 1500ml bottle given to me by Carlo from Struise and taken to Chris_o’s Shindig. Bottle number 20 from 2005. Hazy gold due to the sediment being shaken up on my journey. Lasting white head. Orange/spice aroma. Some lemon. Bit of banana and ester. Alcohol has a certain burn towards the end, but really quite remarkably dirnkable. I went back to it several times. 3.8/5.0 Re-rate RBESG08 grand tasting. Bottle 123. That’s a lovely Belgian blond. Like a good tripel and I gave it exactly the same score as before without knowing it.

[email protected]_o. Strong citrus aroma, mainly lemon. Hazy, pale yellow, white irregular head, good lace. Light sweet, pretty spicy (pepper, coriander) and bitter. But I don’t know whether the bitterness comes from the hops, the spices or the alcohol. Lemon, grapefruit. Pretty alcoholic and hard to finish but very flavorful.

Bottled - Chris O Shindig 2007 - A very hazy blonde coloured beer. The aroma is really inviting. Huge amounts of funk and peppery hops, spritzy yeats. The taste is lemony and peppery. Hugely spicy and lots of funk. Tasty treat.

A Mes rate: 1500cl 2005 bottle at Chris O’s Shindig. Cloudy weiss like appearance with a decent white head and lacing. Yeasty and champagne like aroma with plenty of hops and slight spice. Some alcohol apparent but not as much as you would expect given the abv. Very champagne like flavour and texture. Lemon and spice (coriander?) with some ginger at the back of the mouth. Big hit of alcohol at the drying finish. Typically excellent Struise palate. Thanks Ian for finally opening it and lugging it all the way to Chris’s.
