Bottle shared thanks to svartvit. Gusherrrr! Very dark brown with beige head. Lots of dried berries, red wine, booze, weird herbs, caramel, toffee, port wine, booze, light vanilla, wine gums, caramel. Very fruity and winey. Quite some alcohol. On tap @ Borefts 2012. This is a dark brown one with a small heavy lacing brown and sidesticking top. Not extreme on the aroma but I get some chocolate-thing with woody borboun, red berries, vanilla and some alcohol. The aroma really opens up after a while. Oh, tasty! Chocolate powder, tons of woody borboun, vanilla and oak. Loads of flavor! Somewhat on the sweet side. It’s thick and oily in texture with a average- carbonation level. Ends wood-dry with a lasting caramel-chocolate aftertaste. Impressive stuff. 30.09.2012 VDuquerroux (1952) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - JAN 30, 2015
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2015 Bottle, 75cL. Home. A dark brown-nearly black- beer with a big beige head : poor retention ; no lacing. Roasty aroma, caramel, fruit (prune, raisin), licorice, alcohol. Medium sweetness with a warming background, balanced with a medium herbal bitterness. Medium to full body, thin texture, soft carbonation, sweet warming everlasting finish, spicy fruity note (!). Overall, a fantastic belgian ale, interesting character, delicious. crossovert (14135) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 19, 2014
Draft. Dark brown pour. Lots of tangy fruitiness on the nose. Dark fruits and citrus specifically candied orange. Flavor again is hugely fruity. And nice. most tropical, very sweet.fruits kind of ambiguous buy maybe berries. The bourbon lingers in the background with mostly general booziness. Flavours of bourbon, bitters, malts, caramel, prunes, mocha, raisin, liquorice wood, hint of vanila, dried leaves, toast, some wood, hunt of liquor and brown sugar.
Aftertaste of some bitters, some bourbon, raisin/prunes, light vinous, some mocha and light sweet wood...
Low carbo, light watery spiced mouthfeel (after a while close to silky), between medium and fuller bodied. weihenweizen (4209) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - OCT 27, 2014
Brown bomber poured into a glass. Black with dark brown highlights with small beige head. Aroma is dark candy sugar, medium body, low carbonation, and little small-bubble lacing. Taste is dark candy , bourbon, and dark fruit. This is good,I would have guessed bourbon barrel Pannepot.
