COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew colleague Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2018 Pannepot Reserva 2010 Kolor czarny, smoła. delikatne, rubinowy refleksy. Piana brązowa, puszysta, z początku wysoka jednak bardzo szybko redukuje się do zera. Aromat: słodycz czekolady, pralinek z nadzieniem alkoholowym, dalej kawa, mocna i intensywna. A także likier kawowy, wanilia i nieco wytrawne, winne akcenty. Smak to spore zaskoczenie, słodycz całkowicie wygaszona, teraz do głosu dochodzi winna wytrawność, lekka kwaskowatość, nuty czerwonego wina, dalej drzewo, mokre i wilgotne, delikatnie wanilia. Finisz kawowy, mocny i intensywny z minimalnymi nutami popiołowymi. Goryczka kawowa nieznaczna. Alkohol albo odparował albo został fenomenalnie ukryty. Nasycenie niskie, pasuje do charakteru piwa. Piwo jest nie tak gęste jak bym oczekiwał ale też nie jest chude. Posiada lekko oleistą fakturę.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with light tan head. Aroma of molasses, caramel, brown sugar. Moderately sweet and sticky mouthfeel. Flavors of caramel, toffee, molasses, brown sugar. Very nice Belgian beer that hides ABV very well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is caramel, raisins, figs, chocolate, schnapspraline, red apples. Taste is caramel, apples, woody, raisins, tannic finish. Silky mouthfeel with a rather high carbonation. Lovely! The aroma took a couple of minutes to open up, at first it was very strawy and dusty.

Cloudy dark brown pour. Aroma of dried fruits, chocolate, coffee notes, red wine, port/sherry, oak, licorice, alcohol, cookie, balsamic vinegar. Medium sweet, mildly bitter and soft sour linger. Medium to full body with a soft Co2. Great slow winter sipper. It snowed today, inside it's warm, what more can a man ask for.
