The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew colleague Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.

Bottle. Vintage 2009.The second time Ive tasted a barrel aged version, and I dont think it does the beer any good, still a nice one though. Dark brown with brown head. ARoma dried fruits, raisins prunes. Taste dried fruits, some licorice (less noteable than in the ordinary version). Give me the ordinary Pannepot.

Bottle. Pours dark brown to black. Close to no head. Sugar, alcohol, some coffee, oak, bread, some orange flavour. Interesting. Sweet, with some lingering bitterness. Full body and soft carbonation. Good!

Veldig mrk brunfarge med lavt beige skum. Duften starter med banan og flges av kraftig lakris, marsipan og fudge. Lakris i smaken sammen med kaffe, mrk karamell og en del krydder. Behagelig alkoholsting i avslutningen.

Dark brown beer with a small white cup, low carbonation. Drank a 2012 reserva versoin. Taste is nice: malty taste, chocolate, cherry, alcohol, Fruity; dark fruits, plums, wood, winey. Very tasty but ordinary Pannepot is even better.

Not my kind of beer but can definitely appreciate the quality here. Deep DEEP aromas of chocolate, tobacco, coffee, smoke, prunes, cherries, vanilla the list goes on and on. Same flavors. Just too sweet for my liking. Otherwise great.

Bottle brought back from Bruges. Pours very dark brown with a quickly fading cream head. The aroma has black currant and wine. The taste has cough medicine, blackcurrant, spice, liquorice, red wine and oak in the finish. Some warming booze comes through.interesting and tasty.

Tap. Very deep brown color. Exactly 1 bubble tries to imitate head. Bloody hell give me another bubble and its gonna be as flat as teenager. Fruity, prunes, sweetish, sour, some alcohol in aroma. Belgian yeast, raisins, plums, fruity, roast in taste. Papery, yeasty, prunes and sweet in taste. Almost no carbonation. Feels like fermented old plum jam. And way too sweet for me. Solid brew.
