COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew colleague Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.

Dark reddish brown beer, nice lacing once again. Lovely sweet, complex and vinous aroma, the alcohol is more present here than in the original but it smells like heaven itself. So malty, spicy, fruity, now with some nice wooden notes mixed in rather than distracting the whole like in Pannepot Grand reserva. So soft yet very warming, you can feel the alcohol mostly when it has already gone down your throat. Superb beer, at least as good as the regular pannepot which makes it a perfect beer or perfect beer plus for me. Got to get more of this, If I had to drink only one beer for the rest of my life it would be this one. Still gay for Pannepot, have to five the bastard and shut up now before someone gets annoyed with me.

2012 vintage. Pours deep brown with a finger of thick tan head. Aroma of raisins, dried fruit, spices, brown sugar, light booze. Taste is mild tart up front, followed by a rich fruit sweetness, and then finally a malty and mildly boozy finish. Medium bodied, might be a tad lighter with age, smooth, with average carbonation.

Shared 33cl bottle. 2012 edition. Pours dark brown with a fizzy, short-lived beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, malt, brown sugar. Taste is dark fruits, raisin, oak, red wine, alcohol. Good, but I prefer the standard Pannepot to this.

Aroma: sweet, malty, spicy; Appearance: black/brown with fizzy head that dissipated quickly; Taste: follows nose but with some off notes - heavily oaky with tannin; think the bottle may have been compromised; Palate: heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall: disappointing; think it could have been better.

33cl bottle, 2010. Aroma of dark fruit, apple, sweet, some alcohol, maybe wine. Pours dark brown with a large foamy head, which faded too soon for me. Dirty glass? Taste is sweet, dried fruits, some alcohol again. Oily texture.

From Jan 2008 I got this bottle from leftmindedrighty in a trade. Thanks Aaron! This pours from 11.2oz bottle(2006) a very dark brown with about a 2 finger head of foam that lasts for the entire session as a solid thin layer and there's some good lacing. The smell has notes of citrus, spice, sugar...it's fairly light on the nose. The taste is tasty. Peppery notes along wiith some chocolate, dark fruit, fig, mild candy sugars...this is really smooth. It has a fairly thick mouthfeel to it, the carbonation is medium to light, and it finishes with a mix of bitter chocolate and maybe, raisin. The alcohol, I noticed during the swallow but not so much after the swallow. I think I could only drink one of these at a sitting but it's quite nice. Thanks again go out to Aaron!

Vintage 2010. Long time ago from SwakPiwa.pl. Po zdjęciu kapselka piękny zapach owocow suszonych, malaga i scherry. Wyglad to bardzo ciemna barwa lekkie prześwity bordowej poświaty, metniste na samym dnie, geste i oleiste, wręcz tłuste. Piana bezowa, średnio trwala i raczej spora. Smak słodycz, ogrzewające cieplo, mnóstwo rodzynek i zwłaszcza daktyli.
