ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. Sampled draft. 2014 Vintage. Struise keeps making more & more expensive with diminishing returns. They were the only brewery at the festival to charge 2 tokens for all beers. Black, little tanned head. Nose is vinous molasses, licorice, sugar syrup with some sourness & green apple, doesn’t feel right. Taste is alcoholic pruno (or how I imagine that it tastes like), wine syrup, vinous, green apple, too grainy, yeast, sourish. Body is sour. Feels in some ways too young despite the noted 2014 Vintage, weird. Days of Struise churning out one masterpiece after another are long gone. Their current marketing is not my thing, maybe I am missing something since the fan boys cannot get enough.
