On tap. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a dark brown with a reddish/orange hue and a small beige head. Lovely dark pruney aroma with a subtle edge of Port wine. Very, very rich - almost fat - sweet overripe dried fruit, loads of brown sugars and syrup with a whiff of something that somehow appears like licorice but clearly isn’t. Port and Sherry accents but never really woody. Warming alcohol in the finish, but never boozy. The barrel aging has simply added an extra dimension to an already complex beer. 100512 madmitch76 (24789) - , Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2011

Borefts Beer Festival 3. Hazy brown beer. Residual tan head. Palate is a little dry with fine carbonation. Sweetish malt with a trace of toffee caramel. Nice minerals. Fresh tasting! Just a trace of the port barrel but its there providing subtle red fruits. Finishes semi dry with some lacto. Very nice indeed!
