Tasted blind. Bottled. A red-brown beer with a orangey head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, over ripe as well as fresh fruits, roasted malt, citrus, cherries, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and bretteanomyces making it a bit acidic, leading to a tart, dry, and woody finish. The alcohol burns in the throat. 22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Big thanks to Harrisoni for sharing this rare bottle. Clear dark brown beer. No head. Light dry palate. Sourish malt blended extremely well with a little woody red wine. Subtle yet flavoursome. Not too sour or strong and drinks well below it’s abv. For someone whom has struggled long and hard with sour beers this was pretty much as good as it gets sour wise. Nice one Urbain! cgarvieuk (24515) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 22, 2010
