yellowish head fades fast. brown colour. aroma of caramel, boozy, fruit esters, bread. taste like aroma with a long and sweet finish. medium body and carbonation. bottle 75 cl

Quad qui est plutt pour moi un barley wine, et ce plusieurs titres .. Mon exemplaire avait environ 5 ans de bouteille, et amplifiait .. Couleur brun roux moyen, avec un voile de matires (forte carbonation louverture .. preuve que la bte tait bien vivante ). Bulles fines en fontaine centrale, vives. Mousse qui est un nappage de surface beige clair. Armes de vin, ft, seigle, lie de vin, pointe de cerise confite, poivre blanc. 1re bouche souple la belle entame malt/vin/ft/fruits mrs. Arrire-bouche longue, complexe. 2me avec des nuances parfois un peu contradictoires, mais trs belles isolment. Arrire-bouche trs type vin vieux. 3me o le seigle arrive passer un peu dans les nuances vineuses. Arrire-bouche la trs belle harmonie. Longueur avec beaucoup de finesse, du bois, du vin, du malt, des fruits confits. Jambes trs huileuses, longues. Levure douce, boise, belle ligne. Alcool trs efficace, surtout la suite du vieillissement .. rien ne lui chappe!! Finale de pur barley wine. CONCLUSION: on laura compris, les rfrences au vin sont trop nombreuses que pour ne pas classer cette bire en barley wine, mais il y a encore dautres raisons qui tiennent plus la typologie .. Pour la cote, seules quelques pointes un peu acides pnalisent cette bire, mais elle a bien volu en vieillissant avec les deux ans en plus que ma rio reserva classique ..

Pours hazy copper with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, alcohol. caramel and dried fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, caramel and dried fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Taken from notes, on draft at t Schooltje during a students meet brewers experience exchange. Great memories. Pours dark amber with a nice firm beige head. Rich malty nose, stewed dark stone fruits (prunes, dates, figs). Rich full body, high on sweetness but ever silky as Always with Struise. Flavours are peach, dates, caramel and roasted malts. Nice!

Draft. Hazy dep amber color, medium white head. Aroma of stewed prunes, raisins, vanilla, dates. Taste is vanilla and butterscotch soaked dark fruit, whiskey. Very tasty.

Draft at the Old School - Oostvleteren, Belgium. Pours clearish gold with a light, white foam head. Mellow aroma, light yeast, bread. Medium sweet with some dry bread, ripe fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with notes of gooey honey, alcohol, bread. Very tasty. Quite well balanced.

Habanero (4434) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2014
Bottled. Pours hazy deep amber with small beige head. Aroma of caramel, spice, overripe fruits, dark fruit, bread and notes of bourbon. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and bitter. Full bodied, oily to syrupy texture and soft carb. An excellent Quad.
