COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale was brewed back in 2008, and in collaboration with brew master Ryohei Sugawa San from Rio Brewing & Co. Our goal was to brew a Belgian dark golden blond quadrupel with an enormous potential of aromas and flavors, and added complexity due to oak barrel aging. Bourbon barels from Kentucky were chosen due to their very special soft roast quality and noble vanilla flavors. Year upon year, different quality controls were executed, and we finally decided to bottle condition this very special ale in May 2012. Another three moths of cold maturing was done at the brewery, so we could be sure about the absolute quality before releasing to our customers.

330ml bottle [2011 vintage]. Cloudy brown colour with small to average, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Intense, fruity, malty aroma is quickly superimposed by leathery vanilla Whisky notes, therefore slightly surpressed notes of banana, dried dark fruit, raisin, prune; additionally there are overtones of mild bretty funkiness. Taste is sweet, minimally sugary malty, notes of banana, baked banana, caramel and honey, hints of dried fruit, raisin, prune, some peppery yeasty spiciness, some warming alcohol; lasting alcoholic finish.

[8109-20160318] 330mL bottle, 2011. Mild hard candy and toasted fruit aroma has just a hint of Strawberry Shortcake toy. Hazy, amber orange body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Lightly boozy fruity flavour has a lingering malty aftertaste. Medium body. Average. (7/3/6/3/13) 3.2

Bottle @ home, split two ways. Murky brownish pour with a generous head. Tons of dark fried fruits, syrupy, caramel, coconut and some light booze at the end.

2016-03-18. Dark amber body with a modest creamy beige head. 3++ Aroma is unique, sweet caramel base with a vaguely woody or floral character to it. Brown sugar. Flavour is similar, sweetish toffee like base, is actually more brown sugar like. Warming alcohol is prominent but not overbearing. Fruity notes throughout. 7+ Average plus bodied palate, carbonation. Decent. 7/3-4/7/3-4/15-16 Bottle from North Bar, Leeds.

Wow! Massive complexity. I love the oak, the red wine and the bourbon in this already complex quad. Mostly sweet but still in balance. Really really good! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Hoppy Loft, march 15th 2015. Amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is malty with bourbon and oranges. Taste is fullbodied, caramel, complex maltiness, fruity yeast esters. High sweetness playing teasefully with the alcohol level, with dark fruits in the long lasting finish. A great one!
